It’s not a toy. It’s an exploit from a clue for the event.
Because it’s an effect from picking up a clue for the event. People figured out if they hit their hearth and clicked the clue at just the right time, the effect would carry over.
Holy crap! The amount of people triggered over this is insane. I had no idea what it was, and just started laughing when it happened to me. Lasted a couple of seconds, but ended, and I just got away from the general area it was being spammed at. But calling for people being fired? Yeeeeeeesh.
It’s no wonder we get copy / pasta expansion after expansion with bland fantasy and gameplay mechanics that take zero risks. The playerbase often goes from 0 to 100, just instant “REEEEEEEEE!”

I mean when you’re trying to RP, use the AH, mailbox, or otherwise interact with npcs, it’s super annoying especially since the silencer is meant for people who don’t care for those types of things. But it’s also an exploit, meaning it’s not supposed to happen. When it keeps happening non stop, it gets old real quickly.

It’s no great surprise that something like this would be abused once people found out it COULD be abused.
Hopefully fixable somehow.
It just gets really old fast when it is spammed on you and you’re just trying to stand somewhere.

You guys are acting like babes. While I hate the idea of some guy having fun by bothering others, totally not a crime or even wrong. Let people have fun the way they want to, sucks if its at your expense but it happens
And what about people like me who just want to sit like bumps on a log am I not allowed that anymore? I don’t think they need to be fired but toys like this belong as self inflicted or maybe party inflicted only.

Eh, not quite. If it was to the same extent as someone being a goofball and throwing pumpkins on your head. Sure it’s whatever. There’s literally a toy built to counter it if you don’t wanna deal with the inconvenience.
The whirling stuff is spread by a few dedicated trolls that will run into entire groups and you can’t opt out of it aside from having a macro to cancel it or using weakaura.

I visited an RP server figuring people would be trolling with it and sure enough it was everywhere. Inside buildings like inns and auction houses you can’t see or hear anything besides the buff.

Exploit from a clue from this event. People figured out how to not have their hearth interrupted and click on the clue to bring it back with them.

disagreeing with people is not trolling LMAO. All this boohooing is why we won’t have another blood plague again. I agree it sucks to be the joke but its not a big enough deal to go online and start ranting. Its a video game and you’re all obviously complaining about something that’s going to be hotfixed because of the community, not blizzard.
