Yea well, I did, someone popped that at the inn and some of us were trying to turn in a quest, I gave up at some point and went to make myself some food, still going on, went back for dishes, still going on, decided to come nag at the forums and was about to play another game when it finally stopped. So yes is real and not fun

It wouldn’t be as frustrating if it was something that didn’t jump between players. It’s not pogchamp when you’re trying to rp and chill and some dude shows up and completely ruins the vibe and does it several times.

I recommend reporting them for griefing, in my experience they do get in trouble for that.

I almost couldn’t get out of the inn when I first logged in. I managed to get out and flew up high… someone infected chased me down up there, which got me and almost killed me with fall damage.
This is just flat miserable.

True, I was mounted and that crap started again, I went to fly off to continue doing stuff and I got rubber banded back a few times till I could gtfo valdrakken, :s

You can usually tell who’s spreading it intentionally since it’ll be the same dude coming in over and over again. Already a dude on Alliance MG that’s been making it his mission to come back to SW over and over again and runs right into groups while mounted.

PLEASE get rid of this effect! I can’t function in a game I pay for. Seems rather unfair, to say the least.

I was sitting in Stormwind enjoying a regular role play event when some idiot started using this thing, interrupting the rp and being a nuisance. It went on for some time and by the time it stopped my eyes were really hurting and I was starting to get a headache. I’m told there is no way to stop it without adding an addon I neither want nor need. I can see it being a serious problem for anyone who is prone to epilepsy and will make it impossible for them to play. I can’t tolerate strobe lighting and this effect was almost as bad for me. Why should those of us who enjoy rp be driven out? Blizzard need to get rid of this extremely annoying toy or provide free of charge something that will completely block the flashing lights.

IMO weakauras is one of the most powerful addons in the game so it’s good to have anyway. To be fair, it’s reasonable that they don’t want to download an addon to not be moved around by other characters, which really shouldn’t be happening by people they aren’t grouped with in the first place.

If youre rping you might want things like TRP3 and pratt maybe, but weakauras is hardly useful in that situation.

Weakauras would be the addon, and to have to get an addon bc the game company did something blatantly stupid is ridiculous tho ngl
Well there are also pet management and chat-based weak auras, but I agree, for RP-only players, it probably wouldn’t be missed.
However, whenever you start a boss fight, you could use Weak Auras to have your character yell something like “You stinky scoundrel, we’re going to get’cha!” You can use conditionals to say thanks to anyone who buffs you, or whenever you die you can whisper your friend “Help! I’m reaching you from the beyond!” Or you can say “Nom Nom” when you’re eating, etc.
It’s one of the less-well-thought-out things from the Secrets of Azeroth event, I think. I’m not sure how it’s being brought into the population centers. Some are saying it’s hunters so maybe another debuff pets can carry.
Just not great that they put stuff like this in the event that players can use to grief each other. Another was a thing at a clue in Deadwind Pass that enabled players to attack/kill you regardless of your PvP status. Stupid design.
