Change the tiebreaker rule, why should the last capper win the tiebreaker?
If you score while down 0-1 and tie it at 1-1, you don’t actually gain an advantage of scoring again and going up 2-1 if you’re not capping 3 flags.
Because it makes the BG to not become a big stalemate. If your enemy cap 1 and now you gotta cap 2 to not lose or tie then it becomes an absolute garbage experience.

If you’re ahead, protect the lead. If your team is good, you should just win in caps anyway.
You already HAVE the advantage of being the winner if time runs out when it’s 1-1. You literally JUST mentioned it in your first sentence.
I mean if you have tiebreaker advantage at 1-1 and there’s only 1:30 left in the match, is there a point in going up 2-1?
Agreed CTF sucks so bad. Only maps you can just get straight up unwinnable games depending on the classes you get.
You just capped, so you technically are in the lead because that’s the tiebreaker. So defend it.
If the enemy team can win with 1 cap and then turtle, is there any point to trying or even feeling good about playing to HAVE to cap twice against turtlers in order to not lose?
Equal caps should have a random chance to proc the following:
- Sudden Death - all players have one life, last team standing wins. (75% dampening, immunities disabled).
- Luck of the Draw - 50/50 chance you win the game.
- Protect the VIP - A random non-tank, non-healer is selected to carry the flag to the capture point. If player dies, the opposing team automatically wins.

CTF Maps are the only decent ones (other than BFG).
TBH They just need to make maps designed FOR Blitz. I know it probably won’t happen, but one can dream.

Immunities disabled leaves those with immunities at a huge disadvantage. Also if immunities weren’t, it would make them at a huge ADvantage… Which is why they don’t do this.
That feels really bad for the losing team. If everyone knows the rules beforehand, they can develop a strat. Randomly losing is a terrible suggestion.

They aren’t though especially in the rated format. The chances of victory are effected more heavily by team composition than any other mode. Dragon fcs are s tier and if you don’t have one and the other team does it’s an incredibly difficult obstacle to overcome. A little easier on wsg but still uphill battle at best.
The tie breaker is beyond stupid even more so in rated. A team can hang on by a thread and just hold the other team off from getting a second cap and then manage to finally get a lucky cap at the end and they’re the winner. Like what? A tiebreaker is needed but needs to be different.
I don’t consider eots a true ctf but the flag should reset if a team hasn’t capped it by a certain point. The rated version is just a bad design.
I agree with the tiebreakers, there are maybe better ways to do it, but WSG had that as a mechanic for around a decade. I am used to it, it doesn’t bother me.
As far as team comp goes, yeah. That is gonna be the issue in ANY blitz mode. Better characters for the task at hand. The biggest skillgap in ranked though is being able to best mitigate those differences. Yeah luck obviously plays a part, in Blitz, but it goes both ways and should even out.
And if you read my whole statement I mentioned wanting Battleground specific changes. If there is an utterly broken class for being an FC, that specifically would be fixed. However, that will never happen, so in the world of the game that we currently have, I feel they are the best maps, with the most potential.
(Also, EOTS isn’t a flag map, it is an abomination that must be purged haha)

Anyways, CTF maps are pretty fun and it’s nice to have variety. So no. Could we make it so tanks aren’t nerfed and we push the game to them being FC’s again? Sounds good.
Because it stops people from playing super boring turtles. It’s actually a pretty good system. Keeps both teams pushing.
