Tbh I think it’s fine. They normally knee cap conquest because of pvers but now we have the same upgrade path as them so do it imo.

Uh, partially. As we saw in Eternal it wasn’t great for most people when you had to sit down and grind out full conquest and then honor upgrades if you didn’t wanna fall massively behind.

Although I guess they did do away with the honor upgrades, this’ll still encourage the echo of nyalotha thing where everybody deranks to farm conq efficiently.

BiS is full crafted (minus tier, trinkets, weapons), so you’ll still be timegated even with uncapped conquest

Last expac, ilvl wasnt normalized.

Idk man fighting someone in lower brackets because they farmed BG blitz and now have full conq while I’m in blue doesn’t seem very fun. I don’t want the prereq to be 50 hours of mandatory blitz farming before I get to queue.

Like that’s a bit of hyperbole, but the cap is there so that people who come into the season later have a curve that they can expect. Fighting people with tier and lots of conq pieces is mondo lame when you’re undergeared, especially this season when some tier pieces are absolutely ridiculous like BM and ele.

The conquest cap is in place to promote participation in rated PvP for vault rewards.

If you have not been unlocking a vault every week then you are already behind, and having a cap on conquest makes it impossible to catch up with players that have and are continuing to take advantage of that.

Vault rewards have a significant impact to the PvP gearing progress of every player, and there is no compensation or catch-up for missing a week.

Roll a 2h weapon from a vault, you just saved yourself spending 1800 conquest.
You can use that conquest for other upgrades.

Roll a piece of tier, you just saved yourself the cost of that conquest piece in addition to a catalyst charge putting you 1 slot ahead and 1 step closer to tier bonus.
If you pulled a tier piece this season you most likely have your 4pc bonus right now while most players have no ability to acquire that due to conquest and catalyst charge limitations.

Worst case scenario, you are getting a gem socket, which is also an upgrade to gear.

All of the above are acceleration of the gear acquisition process.

The only REAL in-game incentives to play rated PvP right now are:

Unlock vault to gamble for potential supplemental upgrades
Get a 1600 rating for the tier item token
Gotta have that transmog asap

No. Like Kenny said. To early.

It really doesn’t matter one way or the other at this point.

If you mostly pvp you can buy greens and push mid season.

If you pve there’s no reason to pvp for gear.

Yeah exactly. The sweats nolifed and farmed full conq which made a big gap super early in the season.

For the first time in years I can say I think PvP gearing is fine as is.

Besides this. While players might complain about having to pvp, there’s a reason why pvp is popping so hard in Wrath right now (at least bgs/wintergrasp) is because pvp gear is actually really good gear pre-raid and can fill in slots in your pve set and is pretty easy to get.

Participation is so low because the gear sucks outside of pvp. So the casual pve’ers that would normally fill up the 1500 bracket have no reason to q.

bro they have already downed the freaking pve boss lol yet we cannot even gear??

In what way is this relevant to pvp gearing

This has always been what I’ve said and will always be a big believer in.

Pvp and pve should lend to one another gear wise.

There needs to be benefits to doing both.

Yes I agree, to an extent.

I think it was too excessive in certain xpacs which is why people complained and they reeled it back a lot to where I haven’t set foot in a raid or mythic+ dungeon at all this xpac.

But the same can be said for a lot of pve’ers who haven’t done a bg or arena at all. There’s no reason to. I think there’s a good balance as to where both types of gear are a little more cross compatible and there’s reasons for pve’ers to pvp and vice versa - but not “forcing” people into content they don’t want to do.

Or at least let us pass 50% of the conquest earned while capped to an alt.

Add extra vault pulls then. There is no reason to play once you are conq capped and vault is full.
