Cast sequence macros should not work in PvP. PvP should come down to skill, not copy pasting some gimmicky macro and spamming it.
Yes it can be shut down - some of the time. But those who play around it just tease out your counters then kill you without actually doing the work themselves.
I’m not even the almighty sub kyrian combo and I can make a castsequence macro to do 24k+ damage in a complete stunlock - and that’s dumb. If people can pull it off themselves - more power to you. But this is garbage.

Yeah people shouldn’t be able to pick their own classes and choose a server this is outrageous!
I think the funniest thing is the people with swifty 1 shot macros with 5 spells in them, and then even cast sequence macros, are the ones telling everyone they need to git gud and learn to counter.
Its hard to even take it serious lol. But you know they are. They are serious.
The game would be better if rogue/mage/pallies were removed from the game.

Nope they are alive and well. There are several youtubers posting them for all the big burst specs right now. I’ve seen Boomkin and Subtlety ones the most but that may just be my youtube recommendation algorithm.
I read through a couple articles on the topic. The main reason I believe they are still around is for people with hand injuries particularly those missing fingers. They would like people with those injuries to still be able to play the game. Cast sequence macros offer those people a few more tools to help play the game. As much as it might seem like it flattens the difficulty curve in pvp, I don’t see it as game breaking and, they are available to everyone so, it’s not like they are being given an unfair advantage.
That’s understandable I suppose. Just kind of lame when people can make sequences 10 skills long and execute combos flawlessly without actually having to actually perform themselves.
If somebody needs a cast sequence macro in order to to damage with three buttons they’re a non issue brother
