A Ret can bubble, spellwarding a teammate and his healer can be a druid in tree or a priest in angel or w/e…
Who would enjoy playing into 3 opponents that are immune to everything for that long?

Remove this talent its completely toxic to PvP
Every single “counter” to Ret paladins has been systematically nerfed or removed in the last 2 years
The spec has no weakness
Before some professor says “no ms effect”, Shuffle has passive dampening and 100% in premade brackets Rets play with classes that have it, this is not a weakness
You’ve created the perfect 0 counter spec, not a melee, but also not ranged, not casting, not squishy but also big burst damage, with team becoming immortal from its utility
Yea when this happens you wall, once their biggest longest cds are down you just kill them. I am so amazed at these scenarios where rets spend their strongest cds just to get burst out and you just die? Dont you have cds too? So strange
Ret is so funny it’s like they have twice the defensive tools of every other spec and force every game to be at least 2-3 minutes longer because their whole team can’t die.
And they still find a way to die without pressing spellwarding, lay or bop because every ret is 600 mmr higher than they deserve to be.
I don’t actually think this matters tbh, because 9/10 times you just take and press spellwarden.
I actually think glare is one of the most balanced ret abilities.
Cast time, dispelable, long cd, positional requirements. Plus it’s unique and I wish the game had more flavor abilities like that.
I agree this would be super important for pvp, but will never actually happen because that’s a core pve mechanic for the class.
I think I’d make 3 changes to ret that would make them more fair, but not nerf them into inviability:
-remove spellbop. It’s just too much on top of everything else.
-make sanctuary proactive; not reactive. It keeps the cc reduction component, but does NOT remove existing ccs anymore.
-nerf dawnlight damage OR make it dispelable. It’s basically a ranged feral frenzy with 2 charges on a 30s cd. Simply too strong.
I disagree. A “melee” that can eat a kick for their healer is sickening, I would almost rather it be instant cast so i don’t have to dump a kick into a useless target

Where were you back then when ret needed and got multiple rounds of buffs ? I guess this season ret got loh sanc spwllwarding shield and all this fancy stuff and thats an issue now
If ret is melee they need to have ALL Range removed.
If ret is mid range then they need to be bent over by other melee and subject to the same rules ranged dps are. Stand in melee and facetank then you die.
They have every advantage of ranged and melee simultaneously with none of the inherent draw backs of either.
If they get to have spammable CC like a mage, do ranged DPS like a mage then they should have cloth armor values period and take as much damage as a mage does tanking melee. If they don’t want that then their entire kit must be reduced to melee rangle only, not 5 yards, not 8 yards, not 15, point blank melee. You can allow 8-10 on rep only.
That would be balance.
Currently they get to play like a mage and warrior lovechild with none of the cons of either but every benefit of both.
It is, it can be mass dispelled, the spwllwarded character can also be cced during spellwarding if you didnt know.
It is a defensive and its used as a defensive. I have yet to find these amazing r1 rets bubbling to grt their burst out. Because its not real. As ive said many times if you play ret and get to the 2-3 min mark and you didnt have to spend shield or loh then its a free win. You just kill pink but I guess thats too much to ask to the leet pvpers here.
Every gamr where as ret Im ignored and never have to use defensives its the easiest most free win in the world. But that doesnt always happen because sometimes I fight people with brains thay actually choose to go me or swap me on cds and thats how you preassure a ret

Pretty sure it was added to ret mostly bc of mages but mages are not getting any changes soon I so doubt they’ll revert this. (just trying to understand their pov, there were lots of ppl complaining about ret being unplayable into wizard lobbies).
The holy affliction build could use some dmg tuning but it’s mostly things like 1 mic sac and bubble while forbearance that are odd for ret, I’d like the range changes to be reverted to something like SL but… mages again haha (and pve)

They basically stole a lot from the other specs and created the abomination that it is currently.
Failure in design. This is far from being a retribution paladin. Taking the benefits range/melee blending together into some mess.
Also giving ret a damage overtime spell that functions just because line of sight. Did the Diablo 4 team offered up some advice because it smells like it.
Oh sure, let me just spell steal… Immune. Okay, maybe my friend can purge or tranq shot… Immune. Okay, I’ll just polymorph… Immune. Hmmm… Can’t cc or purge.
Unlike BoP which can be purged by all classes. CC for the majority, is magic based. Very few are physical.
I can’t poly you. I can’t purge you. I can’t ring of frost you. I can’t ice nova you. I can’t pet freeze you. I can’t dragon’s breath you. I can’t blast wave you.
All I can do is attempt to kite your 40 yard hammers. Use an ice block which gives me hypothermia, unlike your bubble. Use alter time and hope it’ll last the 10 seconds of unmitigated damage you’ll do, and still have dampening effects. Once spell warding ends, you can still bubble or lay on hands because guess what, your spec went away with forbearance.
