Remove auto silence and right click report

Most people are nice. “Unwashed masses” is a ridiculous concept.

The people to be concerned about abusing the system are organized. And that IS something best dealt with by Blizz, since dedicated people will abuse any system.

That’s an opinion, not a fact. But facts are that most people are “emotional”, and emotional people are not rational. It is a terrible idea to put ability to silence others into the hands of irrational.

It’s also a fact that the ability for players to squelch another player has been in the game since May of 2007. Blizzard hasn’t felt the need to address any concerns of abuse because it’s not the issue you’re making it out to be.

My suspicion is that most of the people against the right-click report and auto-squelch systems are only against it because it wasn’t in Vanilla. That all the fear-mongering is just to drum up support for the removal of the system for that aforementioned reason.

People are bored and need something to fight about. I’m positive this entire fake outrage will disappear when Classic launches with the report system fully intact.

In live no one talks, everything is on auto. Group, raid, etc…

In classic if you don’t talk it means you can’t group with anyone at all. You are dead. Content isn’t soloable.

You bfa babies have no idea how to live in the world where you need others.

Blah blah blah, petty insults mean nothing. I played Vanilla and plenty of people talk in BfA. Change your asocial behavior and you’ll see that.

I’m not asocial, you are in this case.

“I know you are but what am I”

I’ve been talking in Nazjatar while getting farmed by the horde, totally asocial.

I’m all for removal of the auto-squelch, but RCR is fine. If you get reported, let a GM deal the punishment.

I’d like to know where you were in TBC. How did you manage to do content with the auto-squelch active for most of that expansion? Was TBC not a social time?

Nope, random qued instances and bgs for welfare epics. No one spoke anymore at this point.

Auto squelch probably should be manual.

Cool, then you understand how damaging spam is to communication in public channels. Perhaps you will be less inclined to crap up those channels with idiocy, which removes the ability of everyone in those channels to communicate.

classic did well without squelches. Most popular on pservers. So feature not needed.

Squelch will be abused to silence competition and bully others.

TBC and WotLK did even better, and had automated squelches.
Feature is good.

If you value your ability to communicate, do not ruin the ability of an entire channel’s users to communicate via your garbage.
It is quite simple.

It was fine in classic, ignore worked well. And spam was prevented with message limits.

Bfa babies don’t know how classic worked or what made it good. It was a self regulating community, something you won’t understand since you need big daddy government to protect you every second.

I am beginning to wonder how often you were squelched for crapping up public channels.

I support no changes, you are asking for changes based on tbc trying to sabotage classic. It is you who are a problem.

More attacks again.

Oh, is that what I am doing?

Accepting something is not the same as asking for it. I do not see a problem. However I see someone clearly unable to respect those who will be using specific subject public channels, and fears he will not be able to cavort about in them to disrupt communication at will.
