But it would be so special because you don’t get to have it all the time. Like the special dessert that your auntie makes for Christmas Eve. Everyone gets their frustrations out and then move on in the new year or season or whatever. Put it right in front of Brewfest so we can all drink together afterwards.
Shouldn’t have to.
I wouldn’t call that glorious.
Yes, it is your opinion. We’ve all got them. And in my opinion, ganking and the majority of wPvP is terrible. My experience is, there aren’t many people that like a fair fight. What makes the game special IMO is the community aspect, willingness to help, the leveling experience, and the end game PvE experience. Instanced PvP is far better. Again my opinion.
Classic takes long enough without other players having unpredictable sway over my goals, thanks. I have a job and stuff I wanna do.
I don’t have to. It’s just the smartest thing to do.
Okay.
No one will say War is suppose to be fair.
Me too! I just don’t have a feeling like I have to progress, have to get gear, have to level. It is about smelling the roses with this.
I dont PvP and wont be forced into it, some people simply dont enjoy it wont play the game if its forced. Me and my wife would both quit without a second thought. There are PvP and PvE servers for a reason, Blizzard is not so stupid as to kill off a good portion of there subs.
I’m not calling them criminals. Most of these people are not. The fear of the law keeps them in line IRL or the right set of circumstances to push them over the edge hasn’t occurred yet. I’m talking more about the mental mind set or balance of the type of player drawn to ganking others simply because they can.
Can I prove that they are actually sociopaths awaiting to come out? Nope. But that doesn’t change my opinion of them. That said, I was also once one of them and there had been moments when I could easily see myself being that next mass shooter or serial killer.
Not something I am proud of.
But having recognized the mindset and the capacity within myself, and seeing myself engage in such behavior, I can sometimes see it in others. Maybe I am projecting, again who knows? /shrug
P.S. For those worried, don’t be, having recognized my own potential failings means I have been able to take action and seek help to correct them.
Lets say they only had one server option at the beginning of Classic. Would you two just opted to not play? Roll Horde? Roll on an Alliance favored server?
Love seeing the sheer number of obnoxious trolls coming out from under their bridges to insult people just because they don’t enjoy being ganked (or ganking) in World PvP (or more specifically, don’t want to play on a PvP realm, since it doesn’t necessarily mean people dislike PvP in general, instanced or otherwise).
You like World PvP? Cool story. Not everyone does.
This. Competitive PvP is still a significant part of PvE server gameplay. The only difference is that on a PvE server you can do quests and level without the annoyance of getting ganked by higher level players or groups that outnumber you.
That would be a quick way for me to go back to retail…and ultimately quit altogether
Number one reason i see people crying about pve, is they don’t like being ganked while pveing.
Maybe if you were more social or if alliance wasn’t full of antisocial coward players you would form a posse and hunt down the offending players and then just for good measure , take the fight to them.
Pve is boring and literally just a means to an end. Gotta get to level 60 and bis gear! For what though? What then? Do the same raids again for what?
Pvp IS the content of the game. I don’t hate on people playing on pve servers but they are just gimping themselves and missing out on a lot of fun.
And if you get panic attacks, what better way to try combatting them then facing them head on? What’s the worst that will happen? You corpse run?
Ofc you guys don’t like pvp because you are bad at it. Don’t take that as an insult, allow me to explain.
Pvp is mostly knowing what to do and when and 95% muscle memory.
To get good at pvp is easy, just pvp and die. ALOT.
It comes with time. Believe me the first time a rogue jumps you from stealth and you somehow outplay them and win, you will be so pumped you might just flip your computer desk for lack of being able to control such raging joy.
Good judgement comes from experience.
Experience comes from bad judgement.
To you. I’m sure you get by now at this stage of life that ‘to you’ isn’t always relevant to others.
I find OW PVP utterly boring… Objective based PVP is great…
I wouldn’t have played after my first few ganks.
See, I don’t get any enjoyment from ganking someone. at all. It means nothing to me. Win, lose, spark a “war” whatever. It’s boring as hell to me compared to simply building my character. So I don’t do it, and when it happens to me, I’m just put off rather than enraged or thirsting for revenge. I just wanted some iron, man.
Would you have played if it was PVE only?
Not everyone on PVE servers hates PVP. Some people just want to choose the when. Like I choose when I’m going to go play the auction house game, or the sitting in a city working on my crafting game, or my killing murlocs game, or my let’s all dog pile into AV and kill each other game. I see the game as being far more dimensional than the tunnel vision idea of “killing other players is all that there is”.
You can’t just cannibalize a population like that. If you remove PVE OR PVP, most of the players on them will quit overnight. We picked the choice we wanted for a reason. Most of us DO NOT WANT the other option. I would not have come back at all if PVE weren’t an option. I don’t have time for your ganking nonsense anymore. I and surely thousands of others would unsub on the spot if you canned our realms and tried to cannibalize us for your already larger PVP population. You already have more people. We don’t need us too.
Can Heartseeker really be considered a “PvP” server as an Alliance Priest though?
That’s like me saying I play on a PvP server while playing Horde Stalagg.
I said it before in another thread and I will state my position here again; I choose to avoid PvP servers because I have very limited time, so what little time I have I want to spend doing the things I want to do, going to the zones I want to go to, farming the areas I want to farm. Being on a PvP server means other players can (and occasionally will) dictate when and where I may play.
If Blizzard were to remove normal (PvE) servers, or simply had not included them at launch, I wouldn’t be playing. I’ve played on PvP servers in the past, I know what to expect and I want no part of them. PvP servers do not add anything to my enjoyment, they only reduce and impair my enjoyment by letting others dictate what I can and cannot do.
I’m sorry there are faction imbalances on other servers, but removing normal servers is not the solution.
Be the change you want to see and reroll Alliance. Otherwise, be quiet.
Makes sense horde is better dir pvp and allience pve.
They will never be able to balence pvp servers no game has
