It’s not a fear, it’s a reality. It’s not rare, especially as more and more people hit 60. Watched it happen as soon as this morning before work, in Stranglethorn Vietnam. Two of our guildies were camping a group trying to kill Bhag. They camped the group for over an hour 'til other 60s arrived.
I get it, you like PvP and there’s nothing wrong with that. I used to only play on PvP servers from vanilla launch through Draenor. Ain’t got time for the gankfest that is crowded and especially faction imbalanced servers these days.
I played on PvP realms through Vanilla, TBC, and then WotLK. It was fun, had a blast. But this time around, I just want to level and play in peace. I don’t want to be looking over my shoulders, speccing into PvP talents when leveling, and generally have a more tense leveling experience.
The only time I’ve played with convicted felons of violence offenses was twice as Alliance. They were decent though.
That I could see though, simply people rolling to the more “favorable” side I guess.
Yes, but if more people are hitting level 60 doesn’t that mean theres more level 60s to defend you too? You talk as if the other side is the only one with people who camp/wpvp.
Intiate Mak’gora should be an option. Or if you could enable War with the other races in your faction.
Not to mention, I’m sure everyone’s level 60 friends are just waiting around for lower levels to ask them for help. Because they have nothing to do at 60.
You’d have much worse balance issues on pvp servers. As with happened often in retail, you’d wind up with heavily slanted horde and alliance dominated realms because even the people who roll on pvp servers don’t want to be inconvenienced by world “pvp”.
Then what’s the point? what are we even talking about?
PvE servers should have never existed to begin with. How are you at war with a faction when you can stand beside them killing boars without fear of assault? It’s straight trash.
Yesterday, as I was hitting up merchants for crafting patterns, people were complaining of a horde raid camping people at 60. I rode north and took a careful look around. Sure enough I saw in excess of 30 horde, all 60 and most from a single guild, all running around camping lowbies. From what I saw, they had to have been at it for nearly 4 hours. I don’t know if they went longer because I stopped camping crafting patterns after that point and went to go dungeon.
I did kill a few horde that strayed too far from the main group. However, it does call into question your statement here.
You know what I’ve always done when a raid of ?? people are running through the zone I’m questing in?
I gtfo and go somewhere else to level.
My guild had a huge raid on BRD the other day, the alliance in turn, made their own raid. It was glorious.
Yes PvP can stop progress on what you’re currently doing but whats the point of the game then? Those raids and encounters are what make the game special IMO. It’s not scripted. No GMs/Blizzard walk through.
