Unless the answer to those questions is “yes” removing PvE servers would absolutely force PvP.

If, for some insane reason, Blizzard did get rid of PvP servers, those who had no interest in PvP in the first place would either not play or play on a server that is heavily their faction, to make it as similar to a PvE server as possible.

So your solution here would only exacerbate faction imbalance.

Pvp servers will become pve just like in retail which is why blizz added warmode.The free transfers already sped the process up and if blizz adds paid transfers it will get worse.Look at all the pvp carebears complaining daily about faction imbalance and having to lvl in dungeons to avoid pvp.Constant complaints about not getting quests done and dungeons being camped.Why did players roll on pvp servers to complain about not getting to pve because of the pvp on the server.Did you guys just want a pve server with a pvp title?

^^ This. I have no interest in PVP. I have slow reflexes, bad hands and a mediocre computer. I do, however, have a nice assortment of merino wool that’s would make lovely scarves and sweaters.

If at the start of Classic, they announced only PvP servers you wouldn’t have played then? Is that what you’re saying?

PVP is just a frustrating thing that prevents me from doing the activities in the game that I want to do. I’m having a ball in Classic, but if PVP servers were the only way to play it, I would uninstall it immediately and never look back.

Ganking happens, yes. You can gank too once you reach level 60.

Why would I want to do that? I know how frustrating it is when that happens to me, so why would I want to do it to someone else? There’s no challenge or sense of achievement in killing someone drastically below my level and there’s a very good chance that all I’ll do is ruin the fun they’re having doing whatever it is they’re doing. I don’t see the point.

I’ll flag pvp on if I want to, or to just annoy people sometimes with sap on my rogue, but I wouldn’t want it on full time. It would honestly make trying to level any character a complete pain if I didn’t just level via dungeons and the like.

Census addons had total Horde Alliance Ratio at 50/50 practically. Removing PvP realms would tank any sort of WPvP. But, removing PvE servers just lifts the protection you get in the open world (and it wouldn’t FORCE PvP, just enables).

Would removing PvE servers help balance servers, or would we just see the same imbalance issues we have now?

And this is a hindsight question too, obviously.

This post was altogether stupid. If you want to play on a PvP realm, go ahead. Make whatever justifications for it you want, but that’s your choice. Just as the EXACT SAME situation is applied for PvE players. We can choose when we want to PvP, and can be free from getting griefed.

Turn this on it’s head, the /pvp command is and always has been in the game. Why not make ALL servers PvE and make those that want to do world PvP, simply enable the command that’s always been in the game? Then all servers and all people get the experience they want?

I’ll never understand you PvP players. You have a server full of people that actively chose to play there, but you still leave your holes to cry that it’s somehow not good enough and that you need to force PvE players to your server type.

Won’t fix anything, would 100% cause issues. My proposed situation would at least give all people the choice. Go have your world “PvP” where you’re ganking a 10 level lower Priest and pat yourself on the back for that sick PvP action that wasn’t at all 100% one sided.

Uhh, when you don’t have the option to disable PvP, you are forced to take part in it. You won’t have much of a choice (especially when the next phase drops) when someone decides to farm you for honor points.

Doesn’t change the fact that his original post 100% said all servers needed to be PvP only, followed by saying it doesn’t force PvP. This is exactly the issue that Private servers had. They FORCE PvP only servers and would have found even more success if they had been remotely smart enough to offer a PvE server as well. Regardless your post is wrong, incredibly stupid and be thankful people like this aren’t making actual decisions for big games.
