Removal of PvE Realms

Another reason why I opted PvE servers would be removed instead of PvP servers. Faction balance has no meaning on PvE servers except for being one sided for easy group making.

Its very noticeable. That’s why maybe forcing everyone to similar servers could potentially have better balance?

Just throwing an idea out there that if there was only one type of server would we see more balance or not. PvE is thrown out because it doesn’t need faction balance to be the most “rewarding”.

Rewards for turning it on created problems, huge raid group size problems. Why did they give any reward? PVP servers never got bonus XP, never gave epic gear for killing 25 enemy players.

The only reward PVP servers gave the players was Open World PVP. It should have stayed that way. PVP servers many not be my thing, and I never did the quest for the free epic, but I do understand why the rewards caused issues.

And I still think it should be changed to no rewards for turning it on, that way only players that truly love pvp would turn it on, and make balancing shards easier.

You are under the impression though that if players on pve servers- players who either don’t like pvp or dislike being ganked/the unfairness of world pvp (and I don’t think anyone can deny that world pvp is extremely unfair)- were forced to roll on pvp servers, they would roll on the faction at the disadvantage, knowing everything they hate about pvp servers would be visited upon the tenfold?

If I were to tell someone on a pve server that they can only play Vanilla if they roll on a pvp server- and they can roll Horde and have so little pvp competition it’ll feel like being on a pve server 90% of the time, or they can roll Alliance and spend 30 of the 40 hours they have to play a week being camped.

I guarantee you most of them wouldn’t play, period, and those left would roll Horde.

The people who have what it takes to pvp at a heavy disadvantage ARE NOT the players that opted to play on pve servers. If anything, it would make the balance far worse- while also greatly reducing the number of players in classic, period.

Also, there’s Server imbalances on PvE Servers, too. Removing any server type, doesn’t resolve this issue. So, what’s the real reason, for removing PvE Servers? Not enough people to gank?

This is not that game. There are plenty of battle arena games for that playstyle. This game is about unique player and equipment progression. By definition every character is unique, and with wildly variable capabilities, even in cases of players of the same class and level. You simply are looking for a completely different game.

Quick answer, no it wouldnt do anything to balance the servers.

People play whats the best, PVE servers dont have to worry about world pvp, and are ussually more focused on end game pve. Thats why theres more alliance, alliance has imo slightly better choices for pve. Quick Example, fear ward on dwarf preists. If people are forced to pvp while leveling, the majority would still choose horde because its the better option, most gamers go to were the advantage is over anything else.

So long story short, all that getting rid of pve servers would do is create more unbalanced pvp servers, and make alot of people like me not play at all. I enjoy pvp when im in the mood to, if im in the mood to grind or fish ect. theres nothing more annoying then getting attacked. I either have to corpse run or spend time fending off a player when im not in the mood to. You think having pvp enabled all the time in contested zones adds excitement and fun to the game, i think it adds annoyance and frustration. I would quit in a heartbeat and play a different game.

I roll on a PVE server because I dont have time to deal with being camped and ganked. I would LOVE to roll on a PVP server but I want to quest and stuff in the time I have to play, cause ya know, adulting.

Exactly. That’s why I play on PVE servers. Cause I don’t consider PVP servers to be actual PVP. I don’t associate PVP with ganking toons that have almost zero possibility of defending themselves. I refer to that as griefing and it takes zero skill. Nothing to be proud of in my mind.

Why not roll as alliance on a pvp server then, if you want balance or a challenge?

Ah didnt know about rewards for turning it on…didnt play BFA past a couple weeks. I agree thats dumb. Nevertheless, I still think its a better solution that having seperate server types (minus the rewards ofc)

Not everyone caters to gankers and PVPers. Dont force people to join in a type of server they dont want to get killed by jerks who camp and bully low level players.

No, servers start up on day one and everyone makes the toons the want. Instead of think “I’m going to be Alliance, I should look for a PvE realm,” they would just have time zone, name, and potential population to figure out. There is Alliance on PvP servers so no one is forced to go a specific faction, ever. You’re on Stalaag too.

I’m on Stalaag, heavily horde side favored. I PvPed with 4 alliance in STV pirate ships for about 45mins yesterday. Its crazy to think right.

You’re alliance on Stalaag yet you’re level 60. I doubt you play 30-40 hours a week all while being camped. You’re on the least balanced server too as a heads up.

What do you know! I’m level 47 and I play on a PvP server. I’m not that amazing either so it has to be a fluke.

Guess where my first Alliance alt is :]

40 hours a week to plays!?!?!?!?!?!?!

Holy sh!t I can’t even imagine having half that time available for playing a game, any game.

I would most likely quit altogether if they removed Normal servers and forced everybody to roll on PVP, and I definitely would not roll on the low side of an imbalanced server.

No, I would just quit. I don’t want to play on a pvp server and there is nothing wrong with that.

Yeah, it’s the least balanced- I’m well aware. And I’m also well aware that if I do something in the world- farm for mats, consumables, look for herbs, etc… wherever I go there’s going to be a pack of Horde on me within half an hour of landing.

Even in the rare chances where I can find one or two other Alliance to come and even the odds and end up killing the gankers- the response is bringing in another five Horde, and even if we get in a few kills ultimately the numbers game favours the Horde every single time.

I’ve the patience to deal with it- but I’m not going to pretend I don’t spend half my time in the world being camped and being a corpse, and I absolutely don’t blame anyone for leaving and not enjoying that.

This implies there wasn’t already a clear horde/alliance slant to a many servers before Classic even launched. It’s not like it took more than a few days to know for many servers which faction was going to be dominant.

Those who wanted PvE servers and then were told there are only PvP servers would either not play at all, quit playing, or figure out which servers have their chosen faction as dominant and rolled on those thus making the faction imbalance even worse.

Besides, even with all the hate on warmode in retail, the fact that they needed to add incentives to get more players to turn it on is pretty telling in which kind of server type is actually more popular.

The only thing Blizzard could have done to make the servers balance would have been to closely monitor character creation and lock creating characters of a faction when that faction became to dominant. Wonder how well that would’ve went over.

You’d still have imbalance issues. Either the server becomes Alliance heavy or most reroll Horde.

Or could send me back to EVE. Or BDO. It’s not the existence of PVP but the way it’s implemented.

Exactly!

Seeing as this game is based on Warcraft, and I would love an idea like this, I will also be the first to say it’s one of the stupidest ideas and would be destructive to the game.

Removing PVE servers would not balance the realms if those Realms are also in balanced in the same way has PVP realms. And yes being on a PVP realm would force PVP combat for those that don’t want it. I would personally like to Quest without having people ganking me all the time and having a 10-minute Quest turn into an hour or maybe have to be done the next day because people won’t leave you alone.

the blatent arrogance of pvp players never ceases to amaze me.

you like being annoyed anytime anywhere for any reason… for some reason this gets your jolleys off…

to me, that’s weird AF and i’d much rather enjoy my time playing the game doing what I want to do… not what other people are trying to FORCE me to do…

If I want to pvp… I flag, if I just want to chill and kill random mobs, I don’t simple.

Just because you PVPr’s enjoy PVP doesn’t automatically make PVE’rs “sheep” or lesser.

the arrogance is sickening, grow up
