Removal of pathfinder?

I’m betting pathfinder is the hill they die on.

WoD bled subs mostly because there was nothing to do at max level but raid, pvp or sit in your garrison. It was rushed to launch and then faced constant cuts as devs were quickly moved to work on Legion.

You can do whatever you like. If PF stays it will most likely be reduced and less time-gated. That way people don’t wait half the xpac for flying. I doubt it will stay exactly as it is.

Bruh

Focus up.

So you agree pathfinder is trash? Right on. Focus up  This guy…

Man… your ability to follow a train of thought is soo outlandishly bad.

No once they announced no more flying, and I mean none, people left in masses. This is what made Pathfinder a thing, the amount of players who left at the start of the expansion, they planned to remove flying forever and not even give an alternative.

Rep requirements make no sense when it comes to flight.

How is it that you must be exalted to unlock flight but running there and unlocking the flight path requires no such requirement.
If anything the rep should be required to unlock the flight path as imagine flying to a place where the faction does not know you at all, though with flight you could always land and then walk in to city/outpost to build the rep.

Also when it comes to the potential cost why do we just assume that the cumulative cost would be so exorbitant that it would make it virtually impossible to earn flight?
With no history of exorbitant costs for those of us that only play one toon the cost is not such a burden and for those that have more than one why do you not take the same approach to unlocking flight as those that argue pathfinder is fine, just play the game and if you want flight on each toon just work for it.

The only reason there is gating by time and rep is a product of the devs hubris and spite.

I think players should let the developers develop the game because players only selfishly look at what is good for them as opposed to what is good for the game itself.

Its so immersion breaking to… you see flying creatures everywhere and we have a bag of dozens flying mounts, wtf?
“bUT wE MuST eaRN THIer tUst”

some how completing the story line isnt good enough, we need to do world quest counters for the privilege of something we already have.

When the person typing is incompetent, it’s hard for anyone to follow along… You agreed that part 1 should be all that we need. Yet you stand by pathfinder so valiantly. When you agree something needs to be gutted into half of its original acquisition rate, there’s something terribly wrong with it. That means you have no clue what you’re going on about. Congratulations, you played yourself. You’re either shifting your stance on PF every comment because you have dementia, or you are a troll. I choose the latter. Try to be more consistent in the future. Good day troll

Around release in November 2014, WoD jumped to around 10 million subscribers.

By May 7th, that had dropped to 7 million subscribers.

May 15th was the Polygon interview where Ion confirmed there would be no flying.

By June the number had dropped to 5.6 million subscirbers.

Even if you count every single subscriber who quit between the May 15th interview and the June sub count as people who left because of flying, that’s still less than half of the total number of lost subs between release and the early May sub count.

Proponents of flying paint a narrative that the massive sub loss was mainly due to flying. Not necessarily. It may have had more to due with the fact wasn’t anything to do. Adding a mechanic of convenience doesn’t solve that problem.

At the very least you can’t paint WoD sub count as something purely the product of the flying debacle.

On topic: what people want is the convenience of flying handed to them a la Wrath, Cata and MoP. What’s missing is the first two had zones specifically designed around flight- massive, unwieldy aesthetically ugly zones containing mostly nothing, Icecrown Citadel, Storm Peaks, Uldum, Deepholm, etc.

You can’t ask for flight as an integral game mechanic and still have Drustvar and Zandalar. This isn’t to say I’m of the position that I’d rather have Drustvar/Zandalar and Pathfinder than easy flying and Storm Peaks/Uldum, rather that it’s disingenuous to have this discussion without mentioning this trade off in the first place.

Lol what? Mental gymnastics on you. Shifting stance? Dude, I linked my very first post which demonstrates I haven’t changed at all. You’re the one that’s all now “well, they might do pathfinder but it’ll probably be like you said in your very first post”. and then when I show you my very first post you’re like “lol now you’re saying pathfinder sucks?!?!” like some bad gotcha journalism?

Wooooooow… are you taking your meds during social distancing man… like you’re just everywhere. You’re even calling yourself incompetent now. Are you ok?

What nice lies. Giving more attitude doesn’t validate your point more.
You have opinions. They’re incorrect, but you still have them.

Thanks for the entertainment bud  you’re on one.

Terrible argument. 5k is absolutely nothing. I could easily pay that for 20+ characters and not be concerned at all and I do not have a serious amount of gold. It is so simple to make it has lost all of its value.

NO I have earned Pathfinder and I am not pissed off its gone only selfish people that QQ and whine OH I WORKED SO HARD FOR PATHFINDER! Guess what bud I did Broken Isles Path on 3 separate accounts you don’t hear me QQing.

It takes like less then a day of grinding or maybe a day to earn 5k it takes weeks sometimes MONTHS depending on your lifestyle work etc to earn Pathfinding, so because you don’t have a job don’t ruin it on the rest of us. Btw with the current system you still pay around 10k for flying after leveling a new toon so any argument of “oh look you save gold from path” is invalid.

It was flying dude. People left before they actually took out flying because they KNEW they were getting rid of flying. They weren’t going to sub until the day of.

Some think random trash mob number what ever is content ? To a lot of people it’s just that trash unless it is part of a quest which itself is content.
