Removal of pathfinder?

Yes, no, maybe? I like the idea of getting an account wide achievement to have flying for your account, but I also like the idea of not having to wait 9 months to get it.

Could we have both moving forward? A pathfinder option that has no time limit and for those who don’t want that, an option to pay for flying after say, half the achievements?

Currently we have all X.2? and earlier factions at exalted, the exploration, the quests and the story mode. Done, you now have flying for all characters for that expansion on your account forever for free, and a mount and faster flying to boot.

So I suggest in SL and beyong to remove the rep requirement and put it as maybe friendly only, have a max level requirement and possibly the exploration achievement and maybe some story, than allow us to also just purchase it per character who has done the bare minimum which would pretty much cover the main story line. This way we are still seeing the content, we are still doing the quests and seeing the story, but we also don’t have to grind out the rep.

On the flip side, allow us to still have the current FP option, but no need to wait. Once we pass FP1 we should get flying unlocked on the account. This would allow players who are impatient to get it in only a few weeks of casual play, or like 3 days of grinding, but than grind out the rest to allow for all characters on their account to get flying if they so choose.

After seeing the cost of some things in BfA I fear it will be an expansive endeavour per character and for those who have multiple alts, it will be only a deterrent to get flying in the first place.

Keep pathfinder, make part 1 unlock flying the instant you earn the achievement. Make part 2 unlock flying for any additional zones.

Absolute WIN if they did this.

Anything is better than waiting 9 months or however long until they decide “Hey guys, we have no more excuses to keep you grounded”.

This is really the only thing that needs to be done. Pathfinder is way better than dropping 5k on every toon.

I’ll agree to that but man that time gate just FEELS spiteful.

You look like you have been here long enough to remember what happened in WoD.

It is spiteful.

Oh yes. “Do not cite the deep magics to me, I was there when it was written” lol. Even after all this time I wonder why they cling to that spiteful time gate…

I belive mostof the playerbase would be ok with pathfinder part 1…and flight after it is achieved…
But part 2 and the time gate for the sake of time gateing it expletive a lot of people off

There is absolutely no reason to keep it 6 years later, and absolutely no reason to have put it up in the first instance. We all know there are more who complain than there are who come and say “Wow, this is great!”.

But the fact they nearly went bust on this decision alone should have been enough to tell them, don’t do it. But they did, and the game never really recovered.

The only real problems with Pathfinder this time around was the fact they made us wait SO long between parts 1 and 2, and they fact that in Mechagon they basically capped rep gain per day which made it take much longer than needed.

Without those two things, it would have been fine.

And Naz by doing things like limiting the amount of follow rep we could gain. Just more gating to slow us down to getting to what seems to be the majority of players wanting to get to.

It’s the same as back in Legion and the Broken Shore order hall quests to get your flying mount. Even last week when I completed my druids quests I notice they still gate you in anyway they can.

I got to the point I needed a Broken Shore follower quest to be done, I knew it was coming after having done this now 4 times prior, but no Broken Shore quest was there. I had finished the earlier quest, went to my order hall before handing it in and nothing. Went back to Broken Shore and handed in the quest, lo and behold a Broken Shore follower quest showed up only minutes later. Thanks to this I had to wait almost 2 days to complete it.

Placing content in the game we want to do is fine if they only allowed us to do it at our own pace.

I felt that Naz went by just fine just by doing the questline normally though. Mecha was just STUPID long for no good reason.

I would much rather let players choose whether or not they want to do pathfinder. I would just remove the gate on flight and let people purchase it at max level for a small fee. By that time they have done the content. Pathfinder can stay in but only for free BoA flight.

Both zones took me about the same amount of time to get exalted, but they still both limited the amount of content you could actually complete each day. Quests were limited to a certain amount per day in both zones.

The only real difference was Naz had world quests which made it feel like there was more to do. Mecha actually had more zone quests and to do things (like certain world bosses, or the rec rig) which made it feel like it was taking longer to complete, because if you missed a days worth of quests you had to wait until it came back into rotation, and that could have delayed you by a week in some cases.

No compromises. Remove it.

Even if they had coinciding options to either pay for it or have PF? Back in the day it was max level before flying, but that was also before account wide anything and even before achievements I think.

I think it’s only fair on the devs to at least make you do the story for each zone and see the areas they put together before being allowed to fly over them. There are other ways like simply capping the amount of levels you gain from each zone until you have done everything they want.

If Blizzard want us to explore the zones, then they can do so in such a way that gives the player agency. You can’t ‘force’ people to explore all the zones and areas just because they made the effort create it. Some people just don’t care much for the zones, and will likely end up exploring them anyway through copious amounts of post-level cap world questing.

Not entirely. I have 7 characters now at max level and have only done PF1 on 4 of them because I took the time out to make sure it was done, that included looking up which areas needed to be explored so I could tick that off.

Some people won’t actually get around to seeing it all and doing it all, even with all the max level stuff there is to do.

The rep part gets annoying , each expansion they end up taking more rep away from rewards. Use to get 300-350 rep for dailies and WQ. Then they reduced it to 150 then some gave 75 rep. Having a part 2 taking months 6+ is annoying. They lied when they said “weeks not months” in the past for pathfinder part 2 to be released. There gonna stick with there ideals like they always do. So be ready for another 6+month wait for part 2. Now if it was dev team A from wotlk there wouldn’t be an issue.

Honestly though, what difference does it make? If people enjoy exploring every nook and cranny, then they don’t need incentive to do so, they’ll do it because that’s what they enjoy. But not everyone gets enjoyment out of that, it’s just a necessity before they personally can start enjoying themselves - whatever content that may be.

How about they just unlock flying at max level, but keep Pathfinder for those that want to explore, and reward them for doing it with a mount or something.
