Remix is lasting too long!

It can’t be lasting too long, because it seems they intend you to do Mythic Siege on multiple toons for a chance of unique weapon transmogs. Gearing them up takes days.

If it wasn’t intended to be a leveling replacement, then those toons would be deleted when the event ends. Them being transferred to retail eventually, coupled with the insane EXP gains, is an acknowledgement by Blizzard that MoP Remix is the current leveling replacement.

It doesn’t preserve retail leveling in any capacity. The number of people doing retail leveling is microscopic compared to those doing MoP Remix simply because the latter is far faster, and what people care about more than anything with leveling is how fast they can clear it.

Leveling has already been rendered irrelevant by MoP Remix’s existence, and it will likely remain that way unless the prepatch offers an accelerated leveling experience akin to previous prepatches. You won’t convince people to level on retail by locking their already leveled characters on MoP Remix when prepatch hits. They’re just going to wait and continue being frustrated while playing on their max level toons that are on the retail servers.

Moreover, and this is more of a personal viewpoint, but I don’t see why it’s absolutely necessary for Blizzard to “preserve” the retail leveling experience. MoP Remix is temporary. It will eventually go away and people will return to retail leveling. This seems like a non-issue.

The progression is unlocking cosmetics and mounts.

The pre-patch for The War Within is full of Warbound gear, so you can gear up and prep your new Remix characters even while they are stuck in Pandaria.

You also don’t need ilvl 500+ gear to level in The War Within.

Who says you can mail that gear to renix characters?

You don’t mail it. You put it in your Warband bank. Then, when Remix ends, you open the Warband bank on your formerly-Remix toons and give them a set of gear, courtesy of your main.

But we knew exactly when Remix was going to end, so it shouldn’t be a surprise to anyone that the remix characters are locked to remix until then

Again, I don’t think the issue is when we knew Remix would end, but rather that Remix ending overlaps with prepatch, which we didn’t know the release date of up until recently.

What I care about when leveling is being able to dive into end game when I’m at the cap which is the sole remaining benefit to leveling in Retail and the reason for this complaint thread about Remix.

So we’ll have to agree to disagree even though this thread is evidence of my point.

You’ll get to play your Remix toons eventually. Be patient. This is what you agreed to.

We learned on June 8th that TWW was releasing on aug 26th. Its now July and 14th. We have known this for over a month, and we also knew that remix ended on Aug 19. This should not be a surprise to anyone

And I agree with your point up until prepatch.

Prepatch renders endgame irrelevant. The game fundamentally shifts at that point and becomes about other activities that set the stage for the next expansion.

Once prepatch releases, there’s very little reason to keep MoP characters locked.

Hey! When did MoP Remix release?

Numey’s being treated in the burn ward

Once again, we have known this information for well over a month. At this point it should be a surprise to no one. If you were hoping to level for prepatch, you knew on June 8th that you were SOL because remix lasted until Aug 19th. It’s over a month later and at this point should not be a surprise to anyone.

No, they did not. That’s kind of the issue.
There was no prepatch date or xpack date when Remix went live.

People were running on the assumption that, at the earliest, Prepatch watch drop once Remix ended.

Why would people assume the temporary game mode they’re forced to stay in until completion would last into 11.0?

It doesn’t really affect me, I got bored of it by level 30, but I really hope Blizzard allows Remix players to eject when prepatch drops and just aren’t announcing it until the time comes.

This doesn’t really answer my question.

The answer you’re looking for is May 16th. By the time we learned about the release date for TWW, people had already leveled their toons in MoP Remix, maybe even several since it gets progressively easier the more you play it.

Player frustrations are valid.

oh I don’t know, jus don’t play so much? weird concept …

Right, and by the time we learned that this was an “issue” they had well over a month to level something for prepatch.

Maybe on June 8th, yeah. But its July 14th and we have known about this for over a month. If you’re still frustrated about it, that’s not valid

I hugely doubt that’ll be allowed for Remix.

Why do you need 90,000 characters tho? Planning to corner the market on 90,000 servers?

Ok, so I am ready for the backlash on this but here it goes. I am personally a casual player, a lot of people I know IRL are also casual players, to add to the list guess who I make friends with most while playing? To get to the point, there is a massive player base that are casual players with family’s and careers that take priority and WoW as much as it is enjoyable to explore, collect, achieve, etc. More times than not, we casual players are still working on previous xpac as new is dropping. The remix has given so many players an opportunity to experience Mythic raids, collect new gear to lvl with and even know what it feels like to solo a world boss “at max lvl for content”, the list goes on and on.

On a side note, as much as many of you dislike the remix and I do respect every last one of yours opinions. There has been a significant influx of players that are wanting to help other players and there has been more cooperative and positive discussions in chat channels in the remix. If something feels right to player base and active players in remix (casual or otherwise) are expressing there happiness about little things like chat discussion and players being friendly and helpful, why not give them a home under the same subscription umbrella?

Why not just keep a "Remix server, choice of xfer of character to live server, collection auto xfer per account bind.
when Blizz does another remix “assumption of course” they could use same principal as current, just add curve for existing players that chose to keep toons on remix server, this would allow ALL players ample time to collect and complete content.

Let the verbal lashings and barrage begin, I am not trying to entice anyone to take aim because I did not just create a new thread. I chose this one in hopes of exposure and some creative feedback.

I don’t think you actually understand the problem here.

If just being able to play the prepatch is the issue, then it’s a problem easily solved by having those people hop on their other toons not gated by MoP Remix.

The problem is that they cannot play the toons they already leveled. If people have 6-7 toons in the chamber ready to go for TWW on prepatch, then they aren’t going to level an 8th toon just to play prepatch.
