Remix is lasting too long!

The entire point of Remix was to level toons for TWW, because its going to be so alt friendly. It is stupid design to force us to stay in an event we already completed.

I wanted to take Sagira and get her proffessions lined up but noooo. I am going to have to keep playing Mailborn so I can put stuff in the Warband bank so I can have a good start on Sagira.

I don’t think that way either. I used Remix to level a new main and 2 other main-alts. Yeah my mistake, but I didn’t understand what Remix was, and now I’m “stuck” with those characters because they are 70 and I’ve already put effort into levelling them etc, and I don’t want to wait a whole dang month to be able to play them more

And then off to the forums to complain.

I think it’s not unreasonable to allow people to opt out of remix early. Any remix should have this emabled after a certain point.

They could put restrictions on it if they wanted, such as character must be at least 10 days old…

Blizzard literally told us that the characters would not be on retail until the end of the event.

Create a new modern World of Warcraft character to undertake your adventures in Pandaria, collect a variety of powerful new items and transmogs, then take your transmogs with you when you continue your adventures in World of Warcraft®:The War Within. All Remix characters created during the event will convert to a standard character to play within modern World of Warcraft at the end of the event.

I can understand being frustrated if we were not told before hand but we knew that the characters would be locked.

I agree. But I think there’s a difference between being told something, accepting it, and then, weeks later, changing your mind and saying “Actually, this is taking too long, I want to be able to play my new characters and get them ready for TWW”

That is called being unreasonable. You accepted the terms and now you want to change them because of whim.

The thing that keeps it from being pointless is not allowing people to xfer their characters until after pre-patch. If you’d read my post you’d understand that was what I was saying.

I leveled a character last weekend that I get to play in Retail. Others are complaining that they can’t play their Remix toons in Retail. This means there is obviously still a benefit to leveling in Retail for the time being.

Hope this helps.

Honestly, I think you’re the one being unreasonable.

That disclaimer did not say “Ahem, you’re going to level a character up to 70 in 1 or 2 days, and then, for REST of the event, a whole dang month or even 2 months depending on when you started Remix, you won’t be able to play them! Well… You can play them, but, like, there’d be no point in playing them. I think you’re REALLY underestimating things here and need to reconsider!”

Did the disclaimer say that? No. It told me that Remix was for “advanced” players or something.

It was made clear that Remix characters would not be playable in Retail until the event ends.

The event is too long. Literally the title of this post, heh. That’s what I’m trying to say.

:man_shrugging:

Perhaps. I plan to sneak in late and just level one guy to snag some mogs and mounts while enjoying retail in the mean time. Perfect length for my goals.

It really isn’t Blizz’s fault that people went ham on it and burned themselves out.

They weren’t exactly ambiguous about the nature of Remix.

People accepted the terms of not being able to play retail until the event ended.

Nobody accepted the terms of not being able to play prepatch with their newly leveled characters from MoP Remix. Nobody knew when making those characters when prepatch would be. We didn’t even have a launch date for the expansion yet.

I did read your post, but I find it nonsensical and illogical if only because MoP Remix does serve as a replacement for leveling in retail at the current moment. Previously, we’d get double EXP boosts. This year, it was MoP Remix.

Like, I don’t think Blizzard gating people from playing on retail servers with their MoP characters is an effort to preserve the retail leveling experience. If that were the case, they’d have just done what they did years prior rather than conjure up an entirely new experience.

No, this just feels like a major oversight on Blizzard’s part, really.

You’d run the risk of not having enough time to get all of the cosmetic rewards that you want.

That’s another reason to start now and then become disillusioned with how long it is

You’ll actually be able to do that if my math is right; Like there won’t be a ton of time but you will be able to get in on it with them.

If that was the case there would be nobody complaining. Since it’s not the case people are complaining.

It does preserve retail leveling though. I’m not sure how people can’t understand that. Whether you think it was the goal or not it is the result.

The benefit to leveling in retail right now is being able to engage with retail’s content and play the class in an environment where you aren’t just soloing raids and one-shotting everything. I get to take my fresh 70 into mythics and play the class as it is intended to be played because I leveled in Retail.

I’m not concerned about it. I could live without any of them so any I get are a freebie bonus.

If it was that big of a deal I would have already leveled and shelved a Remix character by now and would already be back to playing Retail anyhow.

Yes but what if you wanted to continue playing that remix character instead of shelving them

I’d either keep playing it in Remix or, if nothing else seemed fun and I had to wait anyhow, take a break until I could move them to Retail.
