Torghast is not a roguelike. It was modeled after roguelikes, but they only copied a few of the most superficial features, ending up with some sort of weird hot garbage.
Don’t listen to him, this is what roguelike are they’re mundane and uninteresting
Careful on the numbers. We don’t know this data. Hehe
Side note: why the eff was the OP flagged?
Imagine calling some of the best games ever made “absolutely terrible.”
You can dislike Torghast all you want. It obviously has flaws and could have been executed much better. But it has nothing to do with the quality of the roguelike genre in general.
Well, millions of people do play ARPGs as a genre in whole.
Also: Hi
Roguelikes generally aren’t my thing, but they can be fun sometimes.
Torghast is a bad example of one.
I literally don’t understand how your post has 14 likes…
Seriously, god forbid people like something you don’t.
Also slay the spire is the best roguelike.
Hai!
So treat Torghast like a dungeon and get 4 other people to carry your butt through it.
( ‘_’)
fingerguns
dungeons are fun with the right affixes. snoreghast is never fun and if they didnt have soul ash attached to it so few people would do it that it wouldnt even be justified putting resources into
get this BS roguelike out of my wow never even heard of “roguelike” till snoreghast like wtf is roguelike just brain dmg
It’s okay. Some people like you are just destined to be wrong
Just because you’re bad at the genre doesn’t mean it’s a bad genre.
The difference between you and I is that I’m not talking down to an entire genre of games. I never claimed to be good at roguelikes, so my skills are entirely irrelevant in this conversation.
Care to elaborate why they’re boring then, or are you just going to go off without any deeper explanation on your feelings?
Your responses in this thread are indicative of you not wanting to have any sort of productive conversation about this. You clearly feel some type of way about this genre, and I seriously doubt it’s because they’re “boring”. This type of ranting is the kind I see when Twitch streamers keep getting stomped on in a game, so the most appropriate reaction that pops into their head is to scream about the game being garbage.
It’s okay to not like something. It’s also okay to not like them because you’re bad at them. I don’t like fighting games because I can’t be bothered to learn the absurd amount of moves and combos that are unique to every fighter. It’s just too daunting.
Talking about how roguelikes are mundane and uninteresting when you’re playing a genre that embraces repetition for many of its core content and mechanics is pretty hilarious to me.
But it is a cheaply produced time sink that they can require you to do to get legendaries. Many of the mice around here are pleased to hop on that treadmill. Money in the bank for Activision.

Literally don’t understand how anyone can enjoy playing this genre

The idea behind Torghast is a good one, and fits the expansion. The issues from where I sit are:
Blizzard has difficulty balancing solo content for all classes.
Torghast isn’t scaling properly for larger groups
More variety is required in terms of which wings players can select each week.

Care to elaborate why they’re boring then,
What needs to be elaborated… how is fighting brainless mobs for 30 minutes until an eventual stat check(not a mechanic check) boss entertaining at all then being rewarded a currency that does nothing but push the needle of your max ilevel.
In a dungeon you’ll clear trash to a boss and said trash will more than likely have mechanics relating to the upcoming boss, you and other individuals are expected to play mechanics and engage with the game.
In torghast if you bring 5 people the health pools become absolutely insane you’re literally just hitting a brick wall for over an hour until you finally get to the end.
This was my biggest issue with ARPGs vs a traditional rpg.
In diablo im in birds eye view and just spamming abilities to kill hordes of enemies … you eventually get to a boss whos only mechanic is don’t stand in the bad.
It feels a lot better to play a traditional RPG like fallout or elder scrolls than some overhyped hack and slash game.
That’s what ARPG and Roguelike feel like… it feels like just nothingness other than hack and slash a genre that’s now dead because it’s absolutely terrible.

Are any of these games in the top 100 most sold games? How are they the best if literally no one plays them.
You are saying fortnite players are ‘experienced’ gamers…
Oh boy, part 2.

Everyone knows fortnite, literally no one knows or cares about diablo.
