That’s probably why he didn’t go to Maldraxxus and if he ever considers going back to the Arbiter will probably end up either back in Revendreth or probably in Bastion. Maldraxxus is for warmongers and power obsessed souls. People who live to fight and conquer for power and glory. Bastion is where one goes when they lived a life of service.
Doubtful, the land was an old graveyard… unless it’s seances, I don’t think any religious services except maybe a funeral rite would be going on there.
If Zul’jin went straight to Maldraxxus, the first thing he would do is gather as much power and knowledge as possible to return and kill the High Elves. If he ended up in the Other Side, he would probably try to drain the Loa’s powers in Ardenweald and attack High Elves. He needed to get rid of his hatred, to become safe for the rest of the Shadowlands.
sorry, I described it wrong. Knowing Zul’jin, he would probably try to return to the world of the living, gaining knowledge from the SL to become stronger but I wouldn’t be surprised if he started hunting down High elves in Afterlife.
If he went to another afterlife, he would definitely not forget about his former life if he started using the knowledge and resources of the entire SL for his own revenge it would be extremely dangerous. If every vengeful soul were allowed to take revenge, it would create great chaos.
you know who else did for their ppl? kaelthas and he ended up in rev too. arthas did for his ppl and got turned into a dust bunny and treated like garbage lol. if tryande died she be the new arbiter after killing pelagos lol.
sl ruined so much story for so many ppl lol wish it never existed.
So every trogg, centaur, quilboar, harpy we’ve killed simply trying to get their land back went to Revendreth.
No wonder Sylvanas saw this nonsense and immediately thought it was bs
He was never a champion of his people, always in Dalaran with humans instead of his own kingdom and even in his demise he betrayed his people for personal power.
Where exactly Draka appeared to you as someone who is obsessed with with power and warmongrel?
Exactly, Zul’Jin didn’t want to exterminate elves, he hated them but ultimately he wanted them to leave. That’s what he said to Doomhammer in “Tides of Darkness” book as this is what Orgrimm asked him. And he asked if he wants to completely wipe out elves.
Keal’Thas brought Burning Legion to Azeroth, in Magister Terrace he was threathening he would “drown the world with blood”.
I agree that he was mishandled too, Ideally we would meet him and blood elves in Outland, where they try to figure out how to function without Sunwell.
But it didn’t happen.
Uh, yeah, gonna call bullsh*t on that, “the elves were doing hunting parties to make sure the troll population didn’t increase,” bit. For starters, provide a source when you make a claim like that, because it contradicts the lore for the elves.
The elves of Quel’Thalas were isolationists whom had the problematic trait of ignoring their problems until they couldn’t. Thus, the Amani were able to breed an army over 4,000 years to wipe the elves out with. So, the idea that the elves were sending out hunting parties to cull the troll population, is in direct conflict with established lore right there.
The Amani did not lose their, “Homes,” when the elves settled Quel’Thalas.
The lore specifically states the elves settled over troll ruins that were not in use, but which had spiritual significance for the trolls. In other words, there were no trolls living where the elves set up their home. Also, I’m sorry, but after 7,000 years, you cannot say the elves of Quel’Thalas are not natives to that land, and that the Amani are now foreigners to it. The sheer scope of time makes such claims by the Amani outrageous. It’d be like me today trying to say I have a claim to the land of ancient Mesopotamia because my far distant ancestors lived there or something. It’s absurd.
With Zul’jin, there are two options here. The first is that he was SO bad, someone decided he needed to go to Revendreth. Maybe Bwonsamedi himself made that call. The other option is that Zul’jin is that one soul Bwonsamedi lost track of, which he has mentioned before. If that’s the case, we don’t really know why. For all we know, Zul’jin left de Other Side to go looking for whatever afterlife elven souls go to, to start a new campaign of genocide, before getting caught by the Kyrians or Maldraxxi and dropped off in Revendreth.
The point is, we don’t know how he wound up in Revendreth, but it’s pretty obvious he belongs there.
The plan Saurfang had made with Sylvanas was to occupy Teldrassil in the hopes that the Alliance wouldn’t risk any aggression for fear of the safety of the inhabitants.
There is no comparison with the exiled Highborne settling Quel’Thalas. The Horde didn’t just build a settlement over ancient elven ruins, they slaughtered every village they crossed on their way. That was not the case with the exiled Highborne, whom were attacked by troll raiding parties, but whose scouts had charted a path north that would avoid troll settlements, so as to keep losses of elven life to a minimum.
Apparently not so occupied that the elves were able to create a city on ancient ruins.
Leylines.
I wouldn’t say the elves were offended that the trolls kept attacking them. More annoyed.
Just because he was venerated, does not make him a hero, much less a god. The worst tyrants in history had their share of fanatics who worshiped the ground they walked on. Doesn’t mean they weren’t trash.
Then how will you explain all those elven settlements outside of Silvermoon, how will you explain that Amani territories shrunk to small bits in Ghostlands? Will you negate the quests you did in starting zone? Will you negate Sylvanas book? How would they get more land without leaving Silvermoon?
It just shows how stupid elves were to settle on Troll land. That’s how trolls are, a die hard territorial breed, that won’t give up. They chose to settle on obviously occupied land. The fact they the trolls tries to STOP THEM to press forward, which elves ignored proves that were indeed entilted to take someone else’s home. This is their home, and they will keep on trying to get it back. Amani still live in Eversong woods, which elves attack in their questing experience. This won’t stop. It won’t stop becuase they sat their bum on someone’s else steat. And they were unlucky that they rose an ire of people who are infamous of keeping grudges.
I just provided evidence that Trolls did tried to stop them, and sent their armies to attack them and prevent it from happening. That land was occupied. They purposefully went to the heartlands knowing damn well that this territory belonged to someone else. If you’re constantly attacked for tresspassing, you should’ve get an idea that this land already has an owner.
You’re also forgetting other important part. Azshara and her Highborne promised to leave trolls alone so long they would stay within their borders. Trolls kept their word, elves didn’t. We’re talking about people that were on Azshara court, people that were on board with her until she summoned bruning legion.
So from their point of view, these people took majority of their land, caused saundering and massive destruction, and then came for more of their land. Of course they’d be pissed on their sight.
Amani aren’t Foreigners, they never left, and they never gave up claims to their land.
But we’re not talking about RL, we’re talking about fantasy races. Where to one 7,000 is like one year, because they live ridiculously long and another is is extremely stubborn and territorial.
No, he doesn’t belong there. He is a revered troll champion. Trolls don’t operate on modern western morality, and I see no reason why they should be held to that standard. Bwonsamdi was able to keep Zalazane, and that traitor betrayed his own people and tried to create undead army. And Zalazane still made it to the Other Side because he was a troll and it was up to Bwonsamdi to deal with him.
Bwonsamdi is death patron of all trolls except the Sandfury tribe. Bwonsamdi was surprised he missed Vol’Jin, becuase all the mess with Jailor was fairly recent.
But then again We also saw random jungle trolls in Bastion for some reason.
I’d sooner agree with you on that SL was a mess and destroyed already established lore when it comes the afterlife of various races.
Elves also slaughtered every troll on their way. I provided quotes. They knew they ventured to troll territory and chose to stubbornly press forvard.
If you constantly meet angry trolls then by all means it is. Besides they were marking their territories, but Elves ofc ignored it.
You can find leylines even in Durotar. That doesn’t justify pressing into troll territory.
Offended, annoyed, aggrevated… whatever. They knew what they were getting themselves into. You just don’t dump your city in the the Troll heartlands and expect to be left alone. That was delusional on their part.
He is a troll hero though. He was fighting for his people, til the very end. He united forest troll tribes, he made out of them fearsome army, he knew that Sunwell was giving them power, and he knew that they had to destroy it, to finally make things even.
There are indeed lots of troll criminals, and scoundrels, but Zul’Jin isn’t one of them. He is a champion of his people.
He is a legend that is known outside of their tribe. Zul’Jin did everything in his power to achieve the dream of his and his people - to drive elves aways from their ancestral home. That is one relentless spirit.
And Troll gods aren’t morally good, they operate on give and take relationship with their followers. Some Loa are evil like Hakkar, but most are neutral chaotic beings.
The blood elf starting quest came out before Zul Aman, it’s safe to say those quest you did poisoning their food and taking enchanted weapons was just a weekly thing the elves did to keep them at bay.
He didn’t go to hell. That would be the Maw. Revendreth is where spirits atone before moving on to another phase of afterlife, either as a Venthyr or to one of the other covenants. If proven irredeemable, that is when they get booted to the Maw.
He not only killed and ‘ate’ his own gods, who by all accounts hadn’t forsaken the Amani at all and just… couldn’t push back Blood Elves, but he introduced that concept to Trolls in the first place. Or at the very least returned it to the forefront. That’s probably enough for Revendreth, within that context, particularly since his fate in The Other Side, Bwonsamdi’s realm, would probably have been much, much worse.
Elune didn’t forsake the Night Elves either, she just lacked the power to fully intervene and stop the Horde, much like the Light hasn’t had the power to stop a bunch of disasters befalling humans. Let’s not forget the absolute pretzel Blizzard had to twist themselves into to have the Burning happen. Draenei were ignored, the space laser was ignored, the catapults with insane range, the fact that a giant, watered magical tree in the middle of the ocean could be lit on fire at all.
They wrote the War of Thorns and the Burning, and then when people were confused and reacted poorly, tried to write some sort of fancy justification for the lore plot holes they’d hammered through.
Tell that to Shadra. Girl was killed in Vanilla and Cata, and was more than capable of appearing in Zandalar to get killed again. (she was also somehow able to get “captured” in a similar fashion to ZA’s gods shortly after getting killed the first time)
Back on topic, Zul’jin was a bloodthirsty despot who was exceptionally prideful, Revendreth was absolutely the right place for him.
Oh right. However, Amani loas were not sacrificed. They were present during the combat.
Not at all. You should read “Tides of Darkness”. He was proud and hated elves, and he had good reasons for that. But in the end all he wanted was to reclaim troll lands.
Besides even if you disagree with his methods. Out of all covenants he should be in Maldraxxus, that man has amazing fighting spirit, he is a die hard, relentless and doesn’t easy give up. He is cunning and resourceful, all the triats that makes a great Maldraxxi.
