I don’t really see how its sustainable for the games population to keep playing like this. It’s funny when it happens the first two-three weeks of a season but when it’s happening at the 2 month marker its actually just frustrating and makes you think they’re asleep at the wheel.

Which is why any initial CC should be held until the Ret pops wings. Vengeance aura shows as a buff on the Ret whether it has charges or not, you have to play around that bonus damage he will be getting and you cant just yolo CC in the opener before wings to give him stacks

that video isn’t a showing a usual situation that happens every game. It’s a huge misplay by their team, and an usual talent setup that allows the ret to do holy damage without breaking blind (which is essentially a 3 man stun because they stacked up for it)

okay so
ret gets lasso’d 1 stack veng aura (totally normal ele shaman play to lasso just to slow stuff down for maelstrom build up, we cant see how many flame shocks the guy has up but its at least 1)
mage dbs to stop lasso
“alright popping wings” we see wings, seraphim, badge runs in gets incap roared by the moonkin, breaks to flame shock, instantly blinds the Hpal and Ele for 2.5 seconds and the Moonkin for 5.
Hpal/Ele thought process is “its a half blind what a moron of a ret” into Divine Toll Final Reckoning 1st death, TV 2nd death, next gcd BoV into a TV 3rd death.
Defending this damage seems unreasonable to me. This is like WW/DK triple stun Chill streak with full mastery corruption skyfury totem BFA s4 damage.

I can kite one for a while but eventually their team mate will help them catch me and as soon as they get 1-2 seconds of wings time im ussually bursted down.

While ret is grody, it’s not the reason you’re stuck at the ratings you’re at, nor the reason you failed at rogue when it was beyond broken in the first week of the season lmao.

Never said it was. And im not stuck. This is an alt and ilvl means a hell of a lot atm. A lot of my games were 185 - 195 ilvl which as you know is relatively low when you are fighting 38k rets in 2’ and Arms/Ret in 3’s.
But its ok, you keep being snarky and act like im supposed to counter Ret/Arms when the ret alone is capable of doing the dmg shown in this vid. Even if its half this dmg its disgusting combined with a second class and just means if i dont play like Chanimal im in for a real tough time.

Ret wings = 2 mins
Ret mini wings from crit procs = averages maybe once every 45-1min
Realistically this shaman should be holding that lasso stun for wings, not really a reason to press it before then

Like you said, the aoe blind talent is rarely used as a “pseudo stun” that the real misplay was them being stacked up. Obviously they couldn’t of know ahead of time that he’s running it, but they also had extremely bad luck in that every ability he pressed crit. Without those RNG crits, that burst would be strong but it wouldn’t of one shot everyone.
This is the problem with reliance on getting crits + slamming every cooldown. If you get crits it’s a win, if you don’t… you hit like a limp noodle. It’s terrible class design (and for kyrian terrible covenant design)

Lol aff has higher sustain and higher overall damage then Ret, you’re just bad my dude. Learn how to make shadowplay work and watch healers instantly die to mind games + UA dispel (or they dont dispel and die anyways)

I think the lasso just gets immediately CS’d or stopped in some other fashion no matter what the ele does with it. Using it early or using it in Wings.
Also, Cyclone still had to go through CS, HoJ, trinket and the ever amazing bubble to stick on this ret.
Also pretty sure someone dies there without an immunity even with 0 crits after looking at that damage. Maybe 3 people dont die but that is definitely a dead situation for someone if there isnt a trinket sac or bubble sac. Keep in mind the 2nd and 3rd person on his team legitimately did less than 4,000 damage collectively before the ret killed 3 people by himself. I don’t know what the nerfs are or anything but this situation even happening one time is probably one time more than it should.

You mean the overall pad dmg into shadow aura? Yeh we do great dmg at the end of a match.
Burst is whats important atm. Stop pretending bro you just make yourself look stupid. Especially with the video at the top of this post.
