And that’s my point. It’s not that ret is the only one… there are at least 3 classes with absolutely absurd burst that require trading literally every cd you have and they can bring them on board so quickly.
I don’t normally complain about convoke, but even last night I shut it down the first time, then later I put my felpuppy on the hpally so I can purge>kick the divine favor, then instantly i get convoked and died in 0.8 seconds. (16k starsurge, 11k starsurge, 17k starsurge.)
Fire mage can bring this type damage on board every 65 seconds or so. Ret has this damage every 120 seconds, and a mini-go at 60 seconds. Boomie also has it every 120 seconds, although its really the first and 3rd that are insane.

You said most likely. Do you not know paladin or do you? Which is it? If you don’t know paladin how can you complain about your own ignorance?
Seraphim is a 45 second cooldown. “Most likely” in this context means its up a lot and lines up with wings almost every time if the paladin has a brain cell or three.

LOL, you dont think its maybe to do with the 22k TVs? Or the combination of the two? Or the fact the guy did 25k DPS over a a 4 second time span.

This kind of damage output lines up with how I feel about doing arena right now. Idk why they put so much damage into burst.

I can’t bring myself to queue 3s on my druid. It’s miserably dealing with this kind of stuff just in 2v2 right now. Slap on a 2nd DPS and its no wonder that the Oprah-immunity healer is the only semi-valid healer. Even then they have a very tough time.

Ya I try to stay positive because clips like this make me want to just stop playing. Why bother really going through the hassle of leveling a character and hours of work to get full sets of PvP gear only to get globalled like this from a ret paladin.
Bring back the old resilience that reduced damage taken in PvP and crit damage

IDK about drastic gear changes. This all kind of just stems from the crit modifier change they made going into this expansion. Which really hasn’t done much at the top end to hurry games along, its just led to ridiculous one shots occurring with a lot high frequency. Last patch we had double drest melee occasionally oneshotting but it was like a 1/100. Now we have classes doing it with their actual class kits a lot more and always with what feels like 50 modifiers slapped on. Crit change made sense to bring static damage between cd damage up but has led to burst being obscenely stupid.
This looks fine but I think Aimed Shot could use a few more nerfs.

I love this line of thinking.
Doesn’t matter if every ret on the ladder is playing 500 MMR above where they normally do, and there’s a record amount of career rivals getting first time glad playing ret because of this. As long as the 3k+ folks can deal with it in AWC, it’s all good.

So a good ret right now can do all of this damage every minuteish minus the badge.

Yes, exactly.
Fire mage is popping you every 65-70 seconds. Ret and Boomie have big goes every 2mins, with a mini-go that might also delete you every min (if stuff procs.)
Back to my top post, its just annoying that stuff like Rally and chill streak get nerfed while this type of stuff is apparently allowed. At a certain point, I feel its more like Promoted, instead of just allowed.
