Keep poking my head back in (least until my sub runs out) hoping for some Holy priest changes but looks like they do not care.
Holy is awful (and FEELS awful) in M+ and a one trick pony in raids because Halo is broken and brought for Fort. We have no class utility or defensives of note and our dispel profile is a joke.
Our AoE spells are essentially nonfunctional dead talents and Renew heals for less than out of combat regen.
Our talent tree is full of bloated nonsense we’re forced to take that helps us in no way. It’s full of borrowed power leftovers from other xpacs that have no bearing on current content and have de-scaled into oblivion.
Why do our Holy Words not move bars.

I was running a +8 with my bro and couldn’t keep up with the aoe damage. I died to keep everyone else up.
My bro asked me “can’t you use a defensive?” Yea about that… he didn’t quite believe me when I told him we don’t have one.

On top of what you mentioned, PoH doesn’t heal for anything, yet costs an insane amount of mana. If they would cut the mana cost by 75% and make the cast length like flash heal, I maybe might possibly start thinking about potentially spending the talents on it.
PoM is a joke as well, as it barely does anything, even after spending 7 or 8 talents to “improve” it.
I gave up on my priest for the foreseeable future. I only play it now in PVP.

Priest defensive is stack verse, self cast flash heal, fade, and pray it works.

Priest design is atrocious. I feel like Holy exists so that Disc players can raid.
I play Disc in keys and then Holy in the raid and they’re both surprisingly good in each respective mode and really bad if you try to mix them.
I wonder if this is intentional by Blizzard, it seems very bizarre. I wish they would draw hard lines in the sand and say: “this spec is for this and this spec is meant for this”. Right now you kinda have to just guess, they wonder why people look at tier lists.

Yeah, cool thing about having many defensive options, you can stack them when necessary.
Once i pugged to 2500 i had to switch to something else. Its a shame. Unless its my key i can forget about getting into a group

Hardly. Anything % based will destroy you still as it offers no DR. We do have some defensive. Shield fade if talented and some defensive that proc off things but it’s all limited and small it’s not good.

I’m not enjoying holy this season. Locked into light weaver, talent bloat for pom, weak aoe, to name a few gripes. Trying to pug 9-10s right now is an exercise in frustration.
I’d love to see a revamp of CoH/Renew. Something creative done to those two signature spells that make them actually be worth the gcd/talent point. Renew as a maintenance spell to keep 6% healing on a target is absurd.
Or you know, a rework to make holy feel like a modern spec.

Been doing 14s and gotta say, it’s not terrible healing 14s, but definitely feel gimped asf. I think I’ve hit a wall with PUGs this season and I’ll probably only get into 14s timed by the end, doubt I’ll time a 15 or higher.
Unplayable is a very dramatic word. I had a look and holy is doing 15’s. While its not top tier its hardly unplayable

Y’all, for real, just play Disc. Stop making your life harder and do the best M+ healer instead of the worst. Slap on Voidweaver and start zugging.
If I wanted to DPS, I would roll an actual DPS spec.

DPS → Healing has quite literally been most of Disc’s identity since Cata. Time to accept it.
Or go Oracle disc like many of us do.

It is insane how badly tuned Holy is and I would rather play any other healer than hard witch to disc and pug…
Apparently “swap to disc” is just Blizzard’s answer. I have zero desire to play Disc and relearn a whole new spec I haven’t touched since Legion and I shouldn’t HAVE to.

I want to preface, this isnt a troll. But as a priest we are in a unique position that we have 2 healing specs.
What does a Hunter do when BM is bad? They swap to Marksman. Same for any dps out there. When one spec is bad they can swap to a different spec, until buffs come through and they can swap back.
Is this not the case then for the Priest? Though it is a unique scenario, wouldn’t the same logic follow? (not ideal mind you, just a thought.)
Mage might not be the best example there.
