Reminder that Grobbulus may NOT be for YOU

Obligatory, OOC

Greetings, role players, duelists, and would be “tourists".

Grobbulus is not just another PvP realm. It is a Role Playing PvP server, which means Blizzard’s Role Playing policies do apply here.

I will not mince words: this is a mega server with eyes everywhere. You will not hide in the crowd. You will not blend in with “lol” and “brb” spam in /say. And you will not get away with names like “insert sexual innuendo here”.

Consider this your one and only warning:

  • Character & Guild Names: Must be appropriate to the world of Azeroth. Modern slang, memes, and nonsense names are violations and are actionable.
  • In Character Channels: /say, /yell, and emotes are in character. If you feel compelled to type “LMAO bro did you hear about real life event” in your instance group, you are on the wrong server. Don’t even whisper me those types of things if you want to be able to login tomorrow.
  • Harassment & Disruption: Spamming toys, corpse hopping role players, or mocking RP events is not “PvP,” it’s a reportable offense.
  • Repeat Offenders: You may think “it’s just a warning.” It’s not. Repeated infractions escalate quickly, and I for one will make sure your account enjoys a nice vacation if you refuse to respect the rules.

A Word of Warning

Some of you may have felt forced here because it’s “the new big server.” Let me be perfectly clear: this is not your personal battleground lobby. It is not a meme realm. It is an RP-PvP server, and the RP comes first in its rules.

I, personally, will be reporting every violation I see. And on a realm this size, you can rest assured I will not be the only one.

Welcome to Grobbulus. Respect the rules, respect the role play, or respect the “This World of Warcraft account has been temporarily been suspended” prompt you’ll wake up to tomorrow on the login screen.

I guess we’ll see how things play out, but if there are say 2K current players per faction now, and 20K from Faerlina join Horde, and another 15K from Bene join Alliance, I would anticipate a cultural change on Grobb.

Is benediction/whitemane/Faerlina RP-PvP? If they aren’t and they are being really forced to join Grob eventually for socializing/groups. Don’t expect them to follow those rules. I wouldn’t expect them to. Sorry neither side asked for this but I suspect you will be the minority here.

I don’t expect this to last for long. They changed the designation of PVP realms to PvE, they can and should change Grobb to just PvP if we’re already going to get threatened with bans instantly upon xferring.

Depends on how many people actually ship over. If it’s a large amount, keeping up with RP policies will likely be impractical.

Honestly, this makes me want to level my alliance char just to camp you.

We get it, you’re a snitch.

The amount of times this post made me want to eat a ban from the forums is incalculable.

ive been on grob since 2019. it aint that deep bruh. ive seen massive meme names on there. and nobody cares about emoting or /say /yell like another realm unless ur spamming or something.

It’s a load of malarky, Jack. Considering the non-RP fiesta that Crusader Strike became in SoD, and with Grobbulus being the de facto PvP server, Blizzard is signalling its abandonment. And honestly most people aren’t swapping from their PvE servers to PvP–they are used to the PvE atmosphere.

As someone who has been on Grobbulus since day one of Classic launch, this post isn’t helpful at all. All it does is scare away anyone who is on the fence about transferring here. Yes, people should follow character and guild name rules. Yes, anyone being disruptive to RPers should be reported. Beyond that the rules don’t really change from any other server.

To anyone considering transferring to Grobbulus, don’t let the OP scare you away. No one is required to RP here, we just ask that you be respectful of it. Just treat others the way you would want to be treated and you’ll fit in just fine.

Allow me to remind you that Blizzard’s Code of Conduct expressly prohibits:

  • Harassment and Defamatory Speech: Targeting another player with insults or derogatory comments. Calling someone a “snitch” because they value the rules falls under targeted harassment.
  • Disruptive Behavior: Statements such as “this makes me want to level my alliance char just to camp you” constitute an admission of intent to grief another player, which is disruptive gameplay and actionable.
  • Circumventing Realm Purpose: Declaring disdain for RP enforcement on an RP-PvP server is not, in itself, bannable, but pairing that with threats of harassment moves it directly into enforceable territory.

Consider this your second and final reminder:

You are welcome on Grobbulus if you respect its policies. You are not welcome to harass players who uphold those policies. The choice is yours, but the enforcement hammer is not optional.

I am, unapologetically, a stickler for the rules. And I assure you: “snitches” don’t get stitches in Azeroth, they get GM mail thanking them for using the report feature and letting them know an account they have reported has been actioned (I would know, I get at least 20 of these a day).

Honestly if I was you I would edit and delete your whole forum post. You are making people who are already angry even more angry. These threats you posted solve nothing and will bring more attention to you and trolls but if that is your goal… you are doing a fine job! Mooooo

This isn’t the RP server, this is the forums pal. Different code of conduct here.

PvP is never considered griefing, nor disruptive gameplay. It’s PvP on a PvP, or in this case RP-PVP server, and they’d just tell you to consider a transfer to Pagle.

Again, this is not a RP-PvP server, this is the WoW forums. While the rules on the forums are strict, they are not that strict, I make sure to abide by them very thoroughly.

You aren’t a GM, your warning is meaningless. You are a player with absolutely no power other than to spam the report button.

On a PvP realm, I wouldn’t be so certain of that one. See. You. Soon.

As I stated above, I am a stickler for the rules.

When emotions are high, as they clearly are with the realm consolidations, it becomes even more vital that we uphold the Role Playing Policies with civility and an iron fist. The forums are not an excuse for outbursts; they are a place to reinforce standards.

Commenters such as Fox must be chased out of the hen pen before their disruptive attitudes spread. That’s precisely why I stack pure stamina, yes, I sit at 556,000 HP unbuffed because unlike the min/maxers chasing crit bonuses, I prize longevity. Longevity in combat, longevity in discourse, and longevity in the eyes of Blizzard moderation.

When these would be griefers choose to camp me, they underestimate how much survival time I’ve purchased with my build. I use that time wisely: to type up detailed, timestamped, category correct reports. By the time I finally decide to swat them away in self defense, the ticket is already in queue and inevitably, they lose twice: once in PvP, and once when the GM responds.

I’m from Horde Benediction. Better people than you have tried.

I can promise you this won’t work they way you think it’s going to work. They might aswell change RP-PvP to PvP at this point. I am sorry but this is the cold hard truth. Not trying to be disrespectful … i dont even got a character in this fight as I am one of the lucky ones that are already on Pagle.

Seems to be that you would like a first hand lesson on how powerful that button really is.

I look forward to seeing you in the hen pen, Fox.

Interesting. Seems like I have this button as well. =)

You made me go in character now:

MOOOOOOO, the irony! To suggest that I should fall to your reports over a post whose only purpose is to remind the citizens of Grobbulus of Blizzard’s published laws… that is like reporting a city guard for arresting a thief because his whistle was “too shrill.”

Understand this: I am the ideal subscriber, the one Blizzard dreams of when they drafted the Code of Conduct. I log in, I pay my sub on time, I read every rule, and then I enforce them with dutiful precision. When others squander their gold on fleeting sockets or trinkets, I invest in stamina, because stamina buys time, and time buys reports.

So when you say you would “report me” for upholding the rules, know this: you would be reporting the very behavior Blizzard depends on to keep these realms civilized. You would be lodging a complaint against the lighthouse for shining too brightly during the storm.

I will not dim. I will not step aside. I will continue to pay, play, and police… the very definition of a perfect subscriber.

I have a few max lvls on Grob and 4/5 the server at max talks even remotely RP. The only RP I ever see is the same guy pretending to be the mayor in trade chat, besides that 0 RP

Yep. I said elsewhere with this shift I’d see many making their 99% servers sort of like illidan retail

It went pve with warmode option. Not many turn that on. since it came to be most cba to do the 2 seconds to click that lol.

I’d have lots of the 99% people thinking likewise here. I have whitemane chars. barring massive serve exodus its like this.

I made whitemane chars at 95% for one reason. A nice west coast horde server, very reduced chance of being corpse camped all night long. at 99%, ever more very reduced.

lots of horde seemed to think that. atiesh never really had the massive horde numbers whitemane did.

then you throw in the virtual crap. You will not be on the server for real. It will be virtual.

To put some like me at ease…lets get a nice tech doc on this setup. real and assumed esx virtuals working lots of networks. the esx switching in the cluster, hitting pagle which seems to stay physical.

I am not even trolling…that sounds like a fun dev blog about that setup. See in eve a few times when they bought new (server) toys, they’d put out articles on that. Thier one node for all setup is not exactly go buy some parts off of newegg or dell lol.

Your post is deliberately designed to threaten and intimidate people who have done nothing wrong, and who are being forced into moving servers to one specific server should they want PvP, and having no option to uncheck the RP aspect of it.

You’re roleplaying as a GM when you are very clearly not one, and are misrepresenting the code of conduct as a method to intimidate others.
