Has a single raid actually wiped enough to miss out on their bonus loot?
Noā¦ on the flip side thoughā¦ there is very little reward for hardmode
Multi-colored bugs are pretty cool tbh. Especially the void one.
I bet you raids have given up sooner than running out of lives.
I donāt recall a single person ālosing their mindsā over that.
To be fair the original idea was to limit the raid sizes. My guess is they had around 40 (10 for AQ20) attempts as the ādeath countā. Which means you couldnāt suffer more than one partial wipe (aka 20 players out of 40; 10 for AQ20). On any given fight without risking that a few might die in another fight and remove the chance at loot*
*I fully believe they had intended for a āall or nothingā risk-taking, with no checkpoints.
My guess is they upped the limit after allowing the more flexible sizes.
In short they likely didnāt want the hassle of making a variable āDeath Countā that would adjust based on the raid size. So they just looked at the data, saw that most raids field around 25 players and went with that as the size cap. This way they could just make the Death Count a fixed number and be done with it.
No one ālost their mindsā. Instead, people were asking for clarification because it was described as a ārogue likeā mechanic of all things. In fact, I made my own thread to point out why roguelike was not a great mechanic for a āhard mode raidā.
They later clarified how it works (explaining the death counter), and since then, no one has really complained about it. If anything, most of the raids Iāve been in, the hard mode reward is really underwhelming, and hardly makes it worth it, because as time goes on, more and more people get the patterns and the trinkets/enchants are more easily found. Arguably, the new repair bot is still a āchase itemā because itās BOP. AFAIK, all other craftable items are BoE.
this guy right here did LOL
Thanks for adding proof to my thread.
