Sorry for showing there’s no reason to be here to annoy people having legitimate issues. This UI was sold to us under false premises. If that doesn’t affect you, that’s awesome. You don’t have to fail at telling people with legitimate issues, that their issues aren’t legitimate.
You are a supremely strange troll
Considering you already replied to me earlier when I pointed out you are fundamentally wrong, to which you responded to me with an insulting retort
Why would you reply to me again as if I was agreeing with you, when furthermore I would also point out I said “journalists”, not “clickbaiters” (similar to how your thread is a clickbait-troll thread)?
Personally, I like the UI. Im going to try to use it over Elvui for this expansion. Couple of issues or enhancements that should be easy fixes though. The Social icon needs separated from teh chat box or the chat box needs to be able to be resized. The minimap definitely needs to be able to be resized. Also it looks like they didnt make the option for the all in one bag for the bank, which feels like a miss.
You can’t resize anything compared to old UI. so minus 1.
You can’t move things anywhere, only where blizz allows.
more toolbars
so there are 2 improvements you’re saying?
People are coming in here saying the new UI is AMAZING, there are “many” “major” changes.
There are sort of 2 improvements.
So not worth the hassle and a great start to a no hype xpac.
also:
-can’t move the system bar?
-System bar greyed out?
Obvious backwards change.
I agree but they do need to add the option to resize and move everything including the Micro Menu, Bags and XP Bar. I’d also love more Font options across the board.
One thing I was bummed wasn’t included was a way to customize Nameplates. I love Plater but Blizz removed the ability for addons to change friendly plates in Dungeons and Raids and the stock settings are terribad. I’d love to change the Font and use Class Colors for friendly’s when Plater is disabled.
The real problem with the UI is that some humans are slaves to their instincts and confuse emotion for logic.
“We are hardwired to resist change. Part of the brain—the amygdala—interprets change as a threat and releases the hormones for fear, fight, or flight. Your body is actually protecting you from change.” https://www.emersonhc.com/change-management/people-hard-wired-resist-change
Not applicable.
Yes, humans are adverse to change as a survival instinct.
However, as per this discussion, and the multitude of other threads, the UI changes are not AMAZING. We wish they would be amazing. This was sold as a main xpac feature on DF reveal. We wish there was more change than there is. Instead, we have bugs, graphical errors, limited new features, devolved UI elements to greyscale, etc.
So you have a very disingenuous statement here.
Also, I’d argue modern society that most of you are growing up in emphasizes ignoring your instincts. You know a product is bad, but are pushed to consume it because you, as a human with social needs, must fit in somewhere. That’s one example.
Suppressing instincts in modern times is the biggest problem there is. But not applicable to why the ui changes are not AMAZING.
If anything, dropping the human condition to be empathetic has exasperated the issue, as seen by many people coming in here just to troll folks with legitimate concerns.
Mine is currently emulating my ElvUI build as the addon doesn’t work currently for me.
At least I have that ability to get it to function. I did mention in several bug reports during the beta that resizing needed to happen, it’s unfortunate that that never seemed to come through though, especially with the Bag/Menu bar.
What would have made it amazing, for you? “Amazing” is, obviously, subjective.
Amazing doesn’t necessarily mean bug free. Which changes do you feel are missing?
I am totally sincere about what I wrote and believe it currently, so your accusation of being disingenuous was an erroneous assumption on your part.
Nobody is advocating that we should be abandoning our instincts wholesale. It should be clear that the point is about how a fear of change will cause people to attempt to rationalize their distaste for a new thing. Surely you see the amount of hyperbole and hand-wringing over this new UI? Once people have calmed down emotionally, we will all look back on this moment with a smile.
