I know that this is going to fall on mostly deaf ears, I know Blizzard wont reply or give feedback because thats just who they have become but I feel like I’m writing my breakup letter. (I know poke fun have at it trolls) But as a final Hail Mary and as a WoW player since 2006 I felt I need to at least put this in words. Seeing this new plan is extremely disappointing. I was disappointed when you forced me out of WoTLK to Cata. (I like Cata, but I wish I could have copied my toons to a Cata server like you did from Vanilla to TBC <— That was smart. Make more moves like this but I digress) I’m even more disappointed that you are going to be forcing me to MoP, this was the expansion that killed WoW for me, I came back and tried in each expansion except for the last 2 and just did not enjoy myself. Now sure, I can go back and do it all over again but in my best John Coffee voice, “I’m tired boss”. I have thrown money at Blizzard like we all have. Between my wife and I we have 5 accounts. Bought numerous boosts etc etc and I dont want to restart the process for you to again just force us into the next expansion when you see fit. I like playing multiple toons. Im fine with things not being rushed into the next phase or the next xpac. I dont get bored with the game. Currently I have 13 85’s im in no rush I like to play all of them. I also do not want to have to rebuild my collection of mounts and pets. From ginding rep to get the Mana Rays from Terrokar Forest to spending hours upon hours waiting for the golden boy TLPD to spawn in Storm Peaks. I just am disappointed and saddened that you wont take into consideration what people want and just cant have the decency to pop open a realm running each expansion and just leave it be. You want to do separate fresh progression realms? Cool do that, but thats not what everyone wants. Doing moves like this kills our communities we build inside the game, It kills guilds and man did I have this better planned in my mind but Its not coming out so well typing it up. In a nutshell, if this is the path you are going to take then it is what it is. Thank you for the place you created that gave me so many adventures, memories and friendships. But I am disappointed and saddened that I didn’t mean as much to you as you did to me.

Will it be November 2004 classic?
Bruh private servers constantly churned from one “fresh” realm to the next, and everybody wanted a fresh server.
It might be empty in a few months, but launch is gonna be hype.

What’s the point in fresh classic? If we’ve already done classic we’d just be tossing aside all our time spent to start over from scratch. Why? If it was classic+, classic with cool changes like some QoL stuff and later professions and races added right off the bat, maybe. But as-is, just start over with nothing? Nah.
The PTR is dead.
When classic first launched in 2019 it was packed with people on the PTR.
If the PTR is any indication of how well it’s going to do, the outlook is not so good.
I personally like that the new realms will eventually be Burning Crusade. I also like the concept of the fresh start with a whole lot of new people. I just don’t have high hopes for it. I hope I am wrong.

Many of us are asking for this. Theres like 50k people who jump to play EQ from scratch everytime a new TLP server comes out.
Is there any news on whether current Classic Era realms will remain active? I realize they will not be heavily populated but I have characters that I would like to keep. Please let us know.
Exactly one thing will drive my decision to play or not:
Is the SM Cathedral ledge patched for Mage boosting?
As a secondary concern, are the stupid anti-boosting mechanics going to be in the game? In other words, can I do the old Maraudon 1-pull or will the mobs ridiculously speed up and murder me?

Because it’s a PTR for content which is already available in playable form. The hype is for a fresh server, not for a week-long PTR of a fresh server.

Yes, they will. Even Season of Discovery servers are going to remain active, despite being “seasonal” servers.

I hope so too. More than anything, I’m in it for TBC. It remains the best WoW ever made. Still, doing huge 1-pulls added a level of enjoyment to the game that very few other elements of it could.

So, how are the new realms going to be released, will they be a tab under the SoD, Hardcore & Classic ERA or will it be a tab under Cata or will it be released as its own space like when we use the dropdown for War Within, Cata Classic or Classic?

The PTR is with Season of Discovery, so I am thinking Classic, not Cataclysm.
But, I am just guessing here.
yes Blizzard finally the real deal! i just hope that this time people actually enjoy and stay in classic era not the mess happened in 2019! who plays CATA? or MOP? ask classic players
