You are sorely mistaken if you think people look at wrath purely with nogalstia, it was simply just a very good expansion
There’s a reason it’s the most popular option for pservers with the longest lasting playerbase

I’d say vanilla is the most popular pserver by a mile but okay
Man I am hype for dual spec and am certainlty not an elite player, but I do despise LFD.
“Hey guys can we do x optional boss”
“No lets go fast need loot box”
“but doing this boss is fun and he drops good loot, only takes 10 minutes extra”
gets vote kicked
Or
joins normal dungeon on alt in lvling gear
tank says vote kick the noob or i quit
gets vote kicked.
That is LFD. It sucks yo.
But i’ll deal to play pvp and raid in wrath as long as we dont get a bunch of retail garbage added in.
For some, Yes. For others, No.
The numbers show that the game hit its peek during the beginning of WotLK (coming off the huge success of TBC) and then stayed mostly steady, dropping off near the end. That doesn’t exactly back up your claim.
Everyone that I talked to said they couldn’t wait for TBC.
Everyone is different. Just because its your WotLK waiting room does not mean its everyone’s.
Don’t worry when LFD comes, I’ll protect you from all that in my dungeons.
Not even ten minutes, like 3 and people still didn’t want to do it. I’m pretty sure some of the optional bosses were the objectives of quests and still people would throw a tantrum about not wanting to waste any extra time.
season of mastery wotlk classic hard core challenge. hehe!
now THAT would be awesome.
Big reason for that is that wrath has the most accessible and stable code behind it making the pservers based off of it the most stable and bug free.
Wrath itself also allows for people to queue in for easy content and dip out at a moments notice. No need to make groups, don’t need to do old content - just run heroics and wear epics. That said most wrath pserver populations nosedive around the ToGC patch and all you have left is a few guilds that run raids and arena players. A lot of pservers just outright lie about their populations which can make it hard to accurately say which servers are popular.
Warmane for example claims an absurdly high pop, but all their seasonal servers dump everyone to their main server which they can claim as “high” but if you try to run any content it’s dead because there’s no reason to run anything. It becomes Dalaran AFK simulator where everyone shows off the gear they bought for thousands of euros.
TBC its original implementation and every pserver is a bug ridden mess that works on a machine made out of bubble gum and popsicle sticks.
please kill me
it sure keeps the low level zones and dungeons busy constantly. especially when dragons are pulled to sw. not sure for orgrimmar.
No one wants to play that trash.
Classic was TBC waiting room now TBC has less than half the players I imagine it will be the same for WoTLK specially with that 4 months for Naxx 25. Imagine all the dad guilds trying to do HM and heroic raids, not a chance.
I never heard anyone say classic was the TBC waiting room. Hence why TBC has less than half the players… cuz it’s not really that great of an expansion. Wrath on the other hand brings some of that warcraft feel back to the game. Classic = midevil / tbc = space / wrath = midevil.
Also Wrath wraps up the arthas story which is what people were anticipating since WoW released, this is why TBC is considered the wotlk waiting room. Nobody really wanted to go to a floating asteroid.
Where were you? certainly not in these forums…
No it won’t, most people who play classic could careless about the lore of past expansions they just want that feel of that old school MMOs. Wrath is very similar to retail in the way it plays but with very limited content which is basically the same that you have in TBC.
yes I was, my forum account got reset because I transferred servers recently. (which btw is total bs, made a post about it in the website bug report forums)
Wrath is just a better expansion than TBC, not because it’s closer to retail, but it’s just overall more attractive than tbc. Many people are waiting to go back to northrend, there are some great zones, way better than tbc zones. Also pretty much everyone is at least gonna mess around with a DK even if it’s an alt.
nah i can wait till i clear tbc content
That’s exactly what people were saying about TBC when we were playing classic.
yes a few people will say that, I’m not saying NOBODY said that, people have preferences. Hell there’s people that still prefer to play classic 8 bit NES games. But like you said TBC has less players playing than classic did. There’s a reason for that. Wrath will undoubtedly bring people back and will retain more than TBC has atm. I have no doubt about that.
Let’s just agree to disagree.
fine
