Just bring back boosting and it’s fine then.
This was in April. There have been things said more recently.
Yeah it’s just trolls trolling with disinformation.
It’s true that some people engage in self destructive behavior and get addicted. But most people who gamble don’t get addicted nor does it cause problems. Most people who drink alcohol don’t have a problem with it or get addicted. Most people are aware of the downsides and easily avoid them. You’re projecting the behaviors of people with addictive personality traits onto the far great mass of people who don’t have addictive personalities.
Addiction has nothing to do with this thread. Period.
Are you capable of critical thinking or do you just read something and blindly accept it? Most of the examples show the value of the path of least resistance. I’m glad people do most of the things on that list. Look at the examples given in your link. Do you seriously believe it would be better if a pilot had to flip 20 switches to disable automatic functions in an emergency than one switch? Do you really want innovative designs in a remote instead of a power button at the top? Do you really want a microwave that requires you to calculate time and hit several buttons instead of just hitting one, like a “reheat pizza” button?
In the vast amount of circumstances the path of least resistance is the best path and convenience is the best choice. You’re looking at the small amount of times it can cause a problem and extrapolating it to all instances. This is known as the Fallacy of Extrapolation. You should look that up.
“Critical thinking”. Kekw
I only copied the relevant bit there is more feel free to read it but it doesn’t change the statement:
" right from the beginning of Classic, they said if they ever get back to Wrath, they wouldn’t put dungeon finder back in.
However, there has been a lot of desire for it expressed in the community, forcing the team to reevaluate their stance. "
So at the end of the day we are waiting for another decision. (26th Sept)
World of Warcraft: Wrath of the Lich King Developer Interview | MMORPG.com
The decision is simple. Add RDF.
Toxicity and being Anti-social isn’t exclusive to one system, they can happen in both ways.
For me, I have kinda been anti-social for most of my life and I started playing WoW around 2006 when RDF didn’t exist. I was fine getting into groups but i wouldn’t talk because I just want to get it over with and at the time and my thought process dungeons from 6 year old brain is that Dungeons are not socializing time.
As for toxicity? to be honest it goes both ways and it can be anywhere, I had toxic encounters in RDF like I had someone from Ragnaros that tried to kick a hunter because his pet ran past a pack but failed because it is whatever it is a normal and I’m on my geared monk (the one I’m posting on) so it didn’t matter and 2nd attempt failed but his reasoning was toxic to those that said no. I had toxic encounters in Classic dungeons where groups are formed manually like I had a mage in TBC classic that proceeds to blame the druid tank for not holding threat when the case is that the mage is using Arcane explosion right off the bat and instead of waiting a good 5 seconds for the tank to establish threat.
It will be in by ICC, just like original wotlk
The only anti social behavior i see is trolls against RDF.
RDF actually increased social interaction because people got groups.
Standing around dal spamming LFG is not social interaction. Period.
What did you say? Oh wait, never mind.
Yes, I’ve acknowledged the fact the community has been toxic since I can remember, even prior RDF. I never said that RDF created it, I said it promotes it because there’s lack of local reputation and punishment.
I used to be anti-social, believe or not, I had to change many years ago. I know what’s it like to be in an environment where people talk and you don’t feel like doing that, it’s unpleasant and uncomfortable to say the least.
There are benefits in being social, and for a community, socialization is better.
Labelling people just because they belong to a group is toxic.
Let me see if I understood that logic: putting people together without prior communication and without an incentive or need to talk is a social interaction; actively seeking people to accomplish a task and waiting for an active response is not a social interaction.
Yeah, welcome to my ignore list as well.
I’d prefer to ride in silence, or read a book. The world would be a much better place if more people read books rather than chatting. Most people are woefully uneducated and lacking in knowledge about the important issues of the day. As a teacher you should be spending your time encouraging your students to read more, not worrying that they’re not chatting enough.
LOL pretty funny how he just ignores anyone who points out that “I’ll go” is not important socialization. And more so that being in an RDF group is a lot more social than being in no group at all or out in the world while using RDF or in game at all instead of logged out or that RDF does not in any way prevent him from continuing to chat pug.
I could care less about that bro. He’s just a random on the internet.
You seem to think that those of us who aren’t interested in trivial chatting are anti social. We would rather spend our time on meaningful conversations and relationships and find small talk about the weather and such to be tedious. That’s not anti-social. That’s spending our limited valuable time on deeper ways of socializing.
Sounds anti social to me.
