It is clear now to everyone that RDF must happen as it did in classic. Just hang tight peoples. We got this <3
They better or phase 2 will have a very short lifespan. The sweat lords will have the content on farm mode in 2 weeks. Then the world will be nothing but raid logging again.
The community has spoken and only gatekeepers want RDF null and void.
The vast majority want RDF. Just look at the threads. Only 5 people and all their alts oppose it.
Now instead of never inviting all of the Human Male Ret Paladins to my dungeon runs, I’m forced to play with them or suffer a desertion debuff? That’s whack man
Vast majority want RDF. VAST.
You do not have to use RDF, you know that right? LFG is still there for you to enjoy. You are free to create any group you want on your own.
Hero! goes blizzard. you can level slowly your char. taking every crap quest you hated the other 10 times on this alt since its good xp. Or pray for a lfg hit with 50% of the game raid logged, 25% leveling in 70 to 80 on higher alts the rest pvp’ing or most of them +5 levels to you so they’d break your xp. You aren’t on a mega server either. I wish luck, you will need it.
no blizzard…you missed an option. other games… thanks to steam deck I have my steam library now portable on a handheld. some days recently I go…I ain’t putting this steam deck down short of wg pops. only able to catch 1 or 2 a day so I try not to miss those. I will call it wintergrasp logging. Kind of like raid logging.
I have done what many said impossible. I have started to play that steam backlog of $4 games many never actually play we all get…
No rdf has had a drastic effect on alt leveling… I didn’t think it would be as hard as it is to run dungeons on my tank and healer Alts but wow has it been hard.
It’s actually quite funny there are so few people running pre wrath content that people have started just solo’ing dungeons if their class allows them.
Sad times really for an mmo
Keep hoping that the servers tank into nothingness otherwise I’ll take blizzard at their earlier statement …
@redtuzk @TheWindstalker We’re always open to feedback, but I doubt we’ll change our mind on automatic dungeon finder. I know its contentious, but there are enough people cheering that I think we’re making the right call.
We want players who don’t want it to have a place where they can play with out it.
I don’t even think you have to be a sweatlord to have it on farm, TBH.
You don’t read much sociology and psychology, apparently. It wouldn’t be optional, but you seem to either, not know it or ignore it.
Could you share factual data with us?
Says the vast majority is pro RDF, says to look at the threads.
Forums are generally for negativity.
I haven’t seen one single mention about RDF on my server since release. Everyones just enjoying the game.
RDF isn’t coming. It’s been confirmed. Let it go.
IIRC even the original RDF was scripted to prioritize class diversity to avoid everyone in group rolling for the same item. Although I don’t remember how RDF work on retail, was not there for long time.
If they ever bring RDF to WotLK Classic it might be modernized and improved. Possibly even include option whether you prefer to form the group faster, or minimize the loot competition.
That is the RDF I would like to see in the game.
That is unless you are biased against Human Retribution Paladins for other reason than loot competition.
Keep in mind that having 12mil subscribers helped the system work the way it did. You have about 4% people playing Classic. It would come with other issues, we would even have to discuss mathematical distribution and stuff. People only see what they want to see, and want it back for its convenience without weighing the pros and the cons.
I’ve read some people say that there isn’t a single downside to it.
Just to give you an example, plate wearers represent about 38% (this is an estimation based on some websites that keep track of servers activity). If they implemented some of the things you’ve suggested, it would affect over a third of players, by making queue waiting times longer for them.
It’s also been mentioned that RDF doesn’t make healers and tanks out of thin air; you would distribute the lack of healers and tanks evenly: RDF would benefit low populated servers, but affect the vast majority of players once again.
That is why I mentioned the class diversity as optional, also the existence of RDF itself encourage players to play tank and/or healer spec if available to their class.
I remember playing paladin as tank from the the very level 20 relying on RDF, while also being able to solo elite quest mobs most of the time, or choosing discipline priest over shadow for leveling to be able to do both dungeon healing as well as questing solo if necessary.
As I mentioned before in multiple RDF topics, I don’t miss RDF for Northrend content at all, it however helped me a lot while leveling alts.
I don’t see how, most people prefer to play DPS. In my opinion, the current state also encourage playing tank and healer classes because they are on-demand.
I’m not saying that you are wrong, I just don’t see how the very existence of RDF encourages something that demand itself does.
Because tank and healers were high on-demand even with RDF system, - (I dare to say even more than with standard LFG system for certain level range) - which give them shorter queues and iirc there were also bonus rewards for entering RDF queue as those specializations.
Like I’ve mention, that is an effect of the demand of the roles, not of the system. People have said that they don’t struggle at all finding groups if they a) are healers or tanks; b) socialize a bit, with or without RDF. RDF just removed b).
hope it does.
