No you make your own groups. No one’s taking that away. Sheesh.
They just make things up as they go along. There was never, ever a single survey that went out to anyone. Not a single person.
Proof that the devs are convinced their players are idiots. If they put RDF in the game players will be too stupid to understand they can still make their own groups. A choice would just be too confusing for them.
Way to go blizzard.
With RDF, most people would use it exclusively, because it would take enough people away from the pool of “LFG” (tool/chat) to make that non functional and RDF would become the dominant way to get a group immediately. RDF is far too convenient to expect the majority of people to not act selfishly and refrain from using it, regardless of what it would do to the health of the server communities.
“You can just not use it” isn’t an argument in the face of a powerful tool like the RDF is. Blizzard devs didn’t make it available because they know this.
Are you still using this argument? People have explained more than once why this wouldn’t work out. Path of least resistance, it is too convienent, human brain is wired to take the option that requires less efffort even if it’s not the most beneficial one. This has been explained in studies and research, some of them even claim that the brain acts in bad faith when doing so, and the list goes on and on.
You refuse to admit that the don’t want it don’t use it, it’s optional argument is flawed.
Consider that before calling people ‘stupid’.
Fixed it for you.
You can still make your own groups. It isn’t a hard concept to grasp. You don’t need a babysitter holding your hand making sure you use LFG.
Of course there’s the fact that now there’s a bigger pool in LFG due to there being no other choice. A lot of those people, maybe even the majority, would rather use RDF. Sorry but people aren’t little smorgasbord bits for you to pick and choose from. Your player pool will shrink but, you know, join a guild, make friends.
Yes. You’re an adult. Children need grownups watching over them an making sure they make the right choices. Lucky you, you get to choose for yourself.
Well whatever you want to do with RDF you can do without RDF, you don’t need a babysitter holding your hand to play with other people in an MMO.
my mage alt level 28 now was in LFG for 4 hours today, I gave up trying to get a group. Its so dead now at low levels half the mobs arent even spawning anymore…
What kind of answer is this? People have used logic to explain why that argument is flawed. You still keep using it as valid.
This is a forum to discuss in-game topics, it’s not a stage to display your immature sense of humor.
Was your LFG stuck on “Searching”? It has a bug where it gets stuck and doesn’t show you the list of players, you need to /reload your ui to get it to show.
nope, but i have seen that bug a few times. I was actively using /4 looking for groups and not a single peep, not even a political stand or even a debate on whatever kids are worked up about now a days
For your level or at all? If there was no chat activity then you’re playing a dead faction, that’s definitely not normal. Or dead hours.
for my low level, there was 3 people spamming at level 80 for peeps to do daily HC before reset which is in a few hours
Obviously since that’s what I’m doing. RDF really wouldn’t change anything for me.
You keep going back to your argument that people’s brains are hard-wired to take the path of least resistance even if it’s not the most beneficial one.
The first part is true. All mammals are hard-wired this way because there is no benefit in effort for effort’s sake. The last part of that statement is false and proven to be false. If people are given a choice to put in no effort to get a $10 dollars or put in some effort to get $100 dollars, many will choose to put in a bit more effort. Raise the benefit to $1000 dollars and most everyone will choose to put in a bit of effort.
Our brains are wired to do a cost-benefit analysis. Animals are like that.
See? You can have a civilized conversation when you want to.
Care to show proof of this? Your example is too compelling; some people won’t go that extra mile for $12 or $15. Not everyone has the elements to do a full cost-benefit analysis when it comes to RDF because we lack the data Blizzard has. And that assumes that everyone has the same analytical skills.
Besides, assuming that part of the statement is false, that doesn’t prove the don’t want it don’t use it argument right. Like Gosakii and others have explained, people will use it for its convenience, reducing the pool of players that don’t want it to a point where they will be forced to use it.
How can you still call that outcome optional?
I doubt it, Blizzard are very stubborn, to the point of idiocy.
With the interview saying he didn’t want RDF too soon, phase 2 would be the best chance to drop it, any longer and folks are gonna quit or move to DF. I’m already gone so here’s hoping.
In most of the interviews I’ve read and watched, they’ve said they won’t change their decision anytime soon.
I’m pro RDF, but this is true in my experience. If I was given the choice between a free $10 and doing 10 minutes of work for $12, I’m taking the $10.
However, this is something that’s made on an individual basis. Some people will value their time differently than others. For some, that extra $2 will be worth the 10 minutes of work. For others like myself, it won’t be. What you guys want is for Blizzard to make that choice for everybody because it matches the choice you’d make, instead of letting people do their own cost/benefit analysis.
