It’s funny how the most visible devs are the ones who get the blame no matter what their role was. GC was never game director yet was blamed for things and got hate. Ion gets blamed for things that happened under another game director because he was the one doing the interviews. Holinka … well he was PvP lead so that one made sense at least.
The thing many players don’t seem to get is none of these people came up with the systems/ideas/etc. all by themselves and then unilaterally put them into the game. No matter who is on the team there will always be people who don’t like decisions that are made. But we should “blame” the team not any individual person for things we don’t like.
It’s George Lucas Syndrome. Everyone wanted him gone and the Star Wars franchise in another pair of hands. Now that it is, everyone is crying for Lucas to come back and “save the saga”.
Well that explains why the game has gone down the drain so hard. Thankfully they ruined my favorite champion so I never have to play that dumpster fire anymore.
I don’t know about bringing him back. The game was definitely in better shape at the time though.
I remember not always agreeing with Ghostcrawler but I generally understood what he was attempting to do with the game and understand rational for the path to get there.
I can’t say the same for Ion. Not saying that he is an idiot or anything. The man obviously knows a lot about WoW. I usually just don’t get what he is trying do or why he picked X, Y and Z to get there.
