Regarding Addons

It looks like all of my current installed addons are for version 1.13.7. Should I move that folder over to the classic_era addons folder then just manually install BC addons?

yes

also if you go on Curse you can filter addons by game version, “2.5.1” is the version you want to look for

I’m betting curse will eventually know to update them, you might just have to shut off some of them for a bit.

Some will still work. Easy frames 1.13 actually works on the 2.5.1 client for example.

I’m on the CurseForge client and it doesn’t seem to have 2.5.1 versions, though I do see it on the website so may have to just go through the website for now.

Good to know, thanks

I started to try that, but…

  • the current addons are in the …_classic_\Interface\Addons directory
  • there is a …_classic_era_ directory,
, but there is no …_classic_era_\Interface\Addons directory.

I hesitate to create 2 levels of directories. I think I’ll wait until CE goes live and I log in, to see if it makes an Addons directory.

I just manually created the addon folder for Classic Era and copied my addons over. Not sure if I have to do anything with my WTF folder.

I made a back-up copy of my addon folder just in case.

Maybe I will wait for a few people to stumble on the right process first!

When you launch the game, it creates those interface folders even though you can’t log in yet.

You must have played the beta. On a fresh install of Classic + pre-patch, running BC classic didn’t create a _classic_era subdirectory. Maybe it will be created when we login after the servers are up.

You have to download classic era to get the _classic_era folder

Ahh. Now I see. “World of Warcraft Classic” on the bnet launcher vs. “Burning Crusade Classic”.
