So i bought a item from the AH few weeks back its was a world drop paly version of lights vanguard breastplate i bought it and transmoged it after awhile i notice it wasnt in my collection so i looked at restoration got the same name of it but its not the one i bought so i open a ticket
Now today im still asking for it back i have repeatedly say the same thing and they just brush me off saying they cant give back the item im missing ive paid gold and cash to get it and other items yet only this 1 item they wont help me recover it back
Ive had transmog issues before and yet it has never been fixed is there anyone from blizzard that can help
To get to the meat of the matter: It’s often best to double and triple check the armor type of things you’re buying from the AH. GMs ain’t able to change out pieces for mistakes. They’re unable to really help you other then point you to WoWhead to see where you can get the right armor type.
Your only way of asking is by ticket. There are no GM’s here, nor is there anyone higher that can help.
What exactly are they saying when they say no? Is there a reason why they’re saying no?
That item has the same appearance as Impenetrable Garothi Breastplate. When 2 or more items share an appearance it may show up in the transmg collection under one of the other names. So, double check your appearances and see if it’s listed under Impenetrable Garothi Breastplate, which is the warrior version, instead.

From what we can see, you acquired the Heroic version of that item, on 8/19 (UTC), the black and gold version. Looking at the log lines that is the only version I see you purchasing and there isn’t any other item in your recently deleted inventory except for that one.
Additionally, we are unable to refund your purchase, not on the auction house or through the shop.
Could there be a possible bug that switched it, when i got it i saw it was the blue version i had it set to favorites so i could see and get it easier

It is unlikely the item itself became another version, but it could have been a display issue when selecting the item for purchase from the auction house, which could be native in the system itself or from an addon.
It is definitely something that our QA team can investigate, though things like that are generally difficult to verify unless we have a multiple samples and can reproduce it. Sorry, Wolfrike.
It was a Display issue because when i added it a favorites so when it was available again i would just buy it when available but i when i got it, it wasn’t the same item that i added to favorites it was the same name but a different color version of the armor
Ive even took photos of the bug in the AH and added it to the ticket that i opened and they still refuse to fix the problem
If it’s a bug, then there isn’t an instant fix like you may be wanting. You seem to be misunderstanding things here.
When you submit a ticket, you’re interacting with a GM. GMs are not Gods. While they may have the actual capability to do these phenomenal awesome things - they are very much limited in what they’re actually allowed to do. Those are two very different things. GMs are only allowed to do what has been dictated to them by Devs and the Powers that Be.
Now, bugs? Tickets cannot resolve bugs. Bugs are solely handled by Devs and bugs are ONLY reportable via the Bug Reports forum or the in-game bug tool. So while it’s great that you’re documenting these things, if you’re submitting them through tickets, they’re not actually being reported because bugs are not accepted via tickets. There is no way to initiate two-way communication with a Dev. All bug reports are one-way reporting, and Devs don’t directly interact with players save for through @WarcraftDevs on X (or Twitter). And even then, it’s not common.
So while you can report this through the proper channels, if the Devs have not approved a solution for the GMs to render down to you? That’s the end of this. There isn’t anything else that can be done. It sucks that it has happened to you, but you have no further recourse.
Just because I want to be sure you understand this - the item may have the same exact name, but depending on the ilevel, it could have a different color variant, which is more and more sounding to be the case here.
What is the name of the exact piece you’re trying to get, and what color variation are you looking for? When I searched that chest piece, there were a handful of different BoE versions, and all were different colors. I will be more than happy to check my AHs on Moon Guard and Wyrmrest. One of the best things about the RP servers is we’ve got stuff that may be far harder to put your hands on off-server when it comes to transmog.

Alrighty. So right off the bat, you’ll see here what I’m talking about with the different ilevels.
Now, just by rolling over the items on that summarized search, all of them give me the same appearance.
But now when I click the individual item under a specified ilevel? It’s a wholly different color variation.
So it really does matter what ilevel and which item you’re specifically buying. If you weren’t paying that part any mind, which seems to be the case, that’s why you ended up with the heroic version that Vrak mentioned. If that Garothi piece is what you were aiming for, let me know what coloration you were aiming for. They’re really not that much, and both WRA and MG have some listed. I’ll be more than happy to help coordinate with you to get what you’re wanting.
Theres the part where your wrong when i bought the item i was on my the companion app it didnt have any of that on it when it was bought also some of what you said is 100% true some items that i read from other people it dropped in different difficulty for them so the item wouldn’t be the same
So when i bought the companion app it only showed the saved item not different variants

But really, you don’t have to prove any of that to me. Like I said, I’d be happy to help you get the coloration you’re wanting to get if you tell me the specifics. To be fair, the stuff I linked above is with some of my add-ons, so that may play a part in things as well, but if you can give me the link to the item and make sure we’re on the same page for the color variant, I will be more than happy to try and get this situated for you. Especially since things can be traded cross-realm now, just getting the right item and right color is the hardest part.
There can be different colour versions of the same armor if its a raid drop item sometimes as it goes off the level it dropped from and the item level. Looking at wowhead, the set has numerous recolours available, so honestly, might not be what you want to hear, but when you buy from the AH you cant just save something as a favourite and assume its not a different recolour the next time you search if it shares a piece name with other items. Best to always check the wardrobe/item look to avoid disappointment.
The companion ap is like AH lite. You wont get all the in game perks like checking armor colours, but it should show the item level of the item which will give you an indicator of what set it belongs to.
what is odd about when i first bought it i could of sworn it was the right one because wheni got it because i opened a ticket they said i sold it and didn’t add to transmog however the item i received was already collected, when i did the recover item it was already collected i had the black and gold version already thats the problem im having
ive search the armor in AH on another toon that didn’t saved it and it showed the same thing as the saved item so it is a bug problem
i bought it through the app because i wasn’t on my computer how a i supposed to know this would happen in the first place i never had this trouble before when i bought something from the AH that had similar names
its not a bug tho. The same named item has 3 different recolors. So you need to actually look at each item in the wardrobe function in order to pick the one you want. Saving the item name will save all 3 versions under one search. Its the same like when you search a crafted ring but theres 6 different stat variations, you need to make sure your actually buying the combination you want.
If you believe it’s a bug, make a report in game or via the bug report forums here. This thread will not get passed along to whoever needs to potentially take a look, nor will the ticket you submitted.
I’m in agreement with other posters though, I don’t believe this is a bug and just an unfortunate oversight when you purchased the item. It’s always good to double check before buying anything.

I haven’t forgotten ya. I just checked the AH, and I’m guessing folks haven’t relisted stuff yet for the day, as they only had two other colors up but not that one.
