In no way said that all macro should be banned; you have misread things.
Nerfed, banned same thing
And youre right i didnt read it
Most âwarriorâ comment youâve ever made.
I know so many would drop off hard in PvP without the crutches lol
I was hoping for some explosions, tech, and mayhem. Gambling is kind of goblin-y, but not really what I pictured as their core identity tbh.
Hm. I wish I believed the same thing too.
You people griping about add-ons are the funniest people. They wonât ban weak auras and they wonât ban 99% of add-ons because itâs solely what makes wow so unique. The fact thereâs so many people who cry about people having add-ons, as if itâs an unfair advantage, but refuse to use the same exact free add-ons are laughable at best.
No thanks, I like mine.
I wonder when was the last time any of their drivers were updated
What on earth are you on about mate? Tons of other games and MMOs use addons.
Name 1 other main stream MMO that has the addon variations that wow has. Thanks come again.
FF14
Incorrect. Ff14 has add-ons technically but they are also against the tos and will get you banned. So no âŚthere isnât a plethora of add-ons for ff14 and the ones that are there are against the rules.
I mean ESO has tons of addons, however you need a mod manager or else it becomes a great deal more annoying
Only if you talk about them.
I think the point I was making was no other MMO out there has such a vast array of add-ons to fully customize your entire experience within the game, that is fully allowed by the developer. If you took away add-ons from wow you would be playing a very different game. It would also trivialize the content and make it rather boring for many of us.
If that was your point, you did a poor job of communicating it:
Rather, I think youâre just moving goalposts.
Both Final Fantasy MMOs have big addon scenes. Final Fantasy XI has entire graphical overhaul packs in addition to normal UI customization / information presentation, and almost no one in endgame plays the game vanilla because addons afford serious advantages that the company is too lazy to incorporate into the base UI (wow, sounds familiar, though I afford the XI devs significantly more leeway since they have zero budget or fulltime members).
The primary thing people want for WoW in these threads is in the title of the thread: reduced dependency on addons, in both PvE and PvP. Baseline UI needs more basic features, especially a DR tracker. Because as-is people playing with addons have an incalculable advantage.
But WeakAuras are out of control too, in both formats of play. Will they do anything about it? Iâm not holding my breath. Doesnât change the fact that theyâve become ridiculous.
So ⌠you named one game with an addon scene, and only one game. The game, as I mentioned previously, doesnât allow add-ons so any use of add-ons within final fantasy is considered against the terms of serviceâŚso again. Point made. Your welcome to use those add-ons and also welcome to receive bans for using those add-ons. Wow openly welcomes add-ons and they create a very customizable game. Weak auras are not our of control. They simply offer a more customizable way to view your abilities and the mechanics of boss fights. Sure it makes some of the aspects of the game easier, and more enjoyable, but itâs not like people using weak auras could only clear lfr and now with weak auras they are clearing mythic raid content. Blaming add-ons for your lack of skill is a bit ridiculous. Either way we all have the choice to use those add-ons. Itâs not unfair that some people choose to use them when others have the same options available.
I also didnât realize âtons of other games and mmosâ really just meant ff14. My bad.
Uh, you want me to start listing non-MMOs? Youâre the one who narrowed your criteria. There are, as I said, tons of non-MMOs with developer-supported addon scenes. Look at the Elder Scrolls series, which goes as far as to include player-made mods in console re-releases of Skyrim.
P.S. Reading comprehension. There are two different Final Fantasy MMOs, both of which have big addon scenes.
Ah, yes, itâs peopleâs lack of skill thatâs preventing them from using multiple stopwatches to keep rolling track of DRs because of the base UIâs inadequacy.
Hopefully they donât get rid of them. I like my add-ons/WAâs.
