Reduce Honor/Arena pt costs NOW

Why are we waiting to release this? What is the point? Just do it.

Season 1 was already screwed from…

  1. People getting 1-2k honor per GAME during the 1 day bug on TBC prepatch launch (people farmed 75k and sat on it until 70)
  2. Arena teams starting at 0 instead of 1500, reducing initial arena point gain severely

Let us at least have a few weeks of arena pvp where our gear is somewhat competitive. The current BG grind is insane and makes no sense.

AVG honor per hour is 1k, if I do AV premades…

It took me 40 hours to get the PVP blue chest and legs (20k each). For entry level pvp gear, that is just ridiculously stupid.

Please implement now, stop waiting.

Please do this, what is the need to PTR test this specific change?

It feels really bad farming honor on my alts in crappy gear and not spending it because I know the price will be lowered.

This is a strong sentiment. These updates need to be pushed fast.

It’s not on live, and it needs to be. Was hoping a head/butthole unstuffing happened this morning but I guess not.

They fixed arena point gain quickly, the rest needs to follow suit.

i have 2k points and im scared to buy a piece of gear because idk how long this update is gonna take

pretty much this. No reason to delay, just making people hoard points and hurting the remainder of S1

I think the majority is now hoarding because they dont want to get screwed.

I’ve been doing arena since it first went live and I can probably buy two cheap pieces but im saving them for end of season. But the issue there is, the way the system works I cannot even upgrade because you get so little for months of saving and cannot compete with the 1850/2000 rated players who have all their arena gear.

I’m not trying to QQ exactly, just think it would add to the arena playerbase and competition if more players could get a piece of gear every 2 weeks instead of every 6 weeks.

They really ruined tbc pvp pacing/gear and arena in general. Starting us off at 0 was quite possibly the biggest mistake of them all.

I completely agree. Look at what the blue pvp set does → it makes it more enjoyable to farm more PvP gear, that’s it. This set offers no remarkable advantage in any other aspect of the game.

Thats why TBC is the waiting room for WOTLK. PvP gear acquisition should be alot better in WOTLK. All they need to do now is revert the change they made to teams starting at 0 rating. I dont see anyone in chat looking for arena partners and im on a massive high pop server. Is pvp just dead?

Like why? Why do we always have to fight blizzard and stop them from ruining their own game? Theyre like a toddler who wants to put their hand on the stove, and the parent tells the child they will get burned, but the toddler doesnt listen and gets burned anyways. Its honestly ridiculous.

You make the best point of all, We are ALWAYS fighting against Blizzard… imagine that. Paying players must battle against the ones who created the game because they are so out of touch.

I will add some of my experience here…

I had no PvP gear, honor, and 20 of each mark going into TBC. I grinded alot (missed the entire crazy honor bug), and eventually got myself to where I am now with 350+ resilience.

Going to be honest, it sucks… Bad, and that was mostly done when the queue times were about 30 mins to an hour long.

I am now personally holding all my honor and marks (50k and about 70 of each mark) until Season’s end. I am PvPing, trying to push rating up, but right now I am in Limbo, having enough points to buy an arena gear upgrade that will give me another 60 resilience, but wanting to wait until the patch comes out that changes gear prices.

So what am I doing right now? Just holding/pushing my rating so that I can actually buy stuff once the patch goes live. Being held back because I cannot get the gear that’s required because there’s no point in wasting points when its going to be lowered soon.

Here is my issue… You increased the points given to players for Arena (live). You made an announcement saying that you are lowering honor/arena gear costs (not live). Who makes these decisions? We’re talking about changing a variable in the code from Say 1850 to something else. Probably easier than the curve you created for Arena Points Distribution.

Why do you want players to be stuck in limbo, getting points, but not being able to use them. We’re talking about a change that SHOULD have gone in with the arena point stuff because its DIRECTLY related to it.

Some of these decisions need to be made better, or you need to have some better leadership decisions on when these patches get added in.

Look at what your adding in. Are there certain systems that are DIRECTLY tied to something we are putting in? Is it done, can it easily be added in with it.

This is the timeline that should have happened…

  1. Release Wargames Queuing System.
  2. Increase Amount of Arena Points Given + Reduce Cost of Honor and Arena Gear +
  3. I Would Still Increase Honor Gained in Battlegrounds by about 20-25% in total. It should
take some time to get Honor Gear and Honor Points, but definitely not weeks and weeks of queuing.
  4. Then, during Season 2. Release Rep Gear (allow people to get into PvP faster).

Idk how they can identify issues that need to be changed, have the means to flip a switch to fix something, and say they have to wait for a major patch to change it.

Why?

At least give us some sort of timeline or you’re turning this into a lose-lose situation… If someone feels they can’t wait any longer and dumps all their points, and then the next day you release the cheaper prices, the crying on the forums will far outweigh the positive comments on what should be a good change.

They need to just announce people will be “refunded” for the cost difference for pieces they already bought before the change. Bought a helmet for 1875 and then it got reduced to 1500? Boom you get 375 points back when they implement the change. That’s the most common sense solution and should be trivial to implement.

This limbo with no answers (when is the change coming? Will we be screwed buying pieces now? When is the season going to end?) is completely ridiculous.

Exactly. Same old, tired story. No communication. No discussion. Blizzard will say “we’re doing X …at some point in the future. Be prepared. No questions will be taken. “

This is the most reasonable suggestion I’ve seen, blizz needs to read this and take it to heart.
Then tell us they have done so. Then implement it.

common sense solutions are not their strong suit. Its usually, “what is the easiest thing we can do.”
