My friend and I are trying to get her account linked to mine but it just wont do so? To note: she had already re-downloaded the game and battle.net before going through the invite. I figured that may be why so I’m having her try uninstalling everything then re-downloading it through the RaF process.
Is there any support that could link us from their side though? I had already submitted a ticket with the relevant information.
Also, I saw there’s a number of issues with RaF currently through the support site. If my friend and I wanted, could we have her go ahead and sub and then later on get that time added to our RaF link once these issues are solved? If you’re a regular player reading this: have you been able to get time added to your RaF despite it occurring outside of the link?
Thanks in advance!
EDIT: Do RaF friends only show in ui (etc) after they have subbed? I was reading around and am curious if this is the case.
I’m afraid not. Our staff isn’t able to link accounts.
Uninstalling/reinstallilng really isn’t going to be a factor, since the presence of the WoW client itself doesn’t matter. Everything from your friend’s side is done through the Account Management page.
When your friend attempts to use the Recruit a Friend link, what is she seeing? She should be prompted to either create a new Battle.net account or log into an existing one. Logging into an existing one should take her to a screen that says: "X Wants to play World of Warcraft with you!
There should be a list of eligible game accounts under that. She should have a single account that currently qualifies for Recruit a Friend from what I can see.

Hey Vrakthris,
So we’ve seen everything you’ve detailed! after she logins/selects her one account the next thing that pops up says to download bnet and when she does that it leaves her on the wow bnet page ( in the bnet app). That’s it though.
Just to be certain what step she is on. She logs into her current Battle.net account, she is on the Recruit a Friend page your invite takes her to?
If so, she then selects the eligible WoW license, which should be WoW#1 and then clicks on “Accept Your Invitation”?
Edit:
Okay, I just tested it and it seems that the link isn’t forming. We are seeing other reports of existing Recruit a Friend links disappearing after patch 9.2.5. This may be related.
It is being looked into, and I’ll make sure this bit of information is added to it, but I don’t think we have any kind of work around until the overall issue can be resolved.

ok yea after researching a bit I kind of figured, haha.
Is it fine for her to still sub and then get that time added to our raf link later?
An eligible WoW license will be able to be retroactively linked for up to 7 days after game time has been added to the account. So, once the issue is resolved you should be able to create the link.
That said, I don’t know how long it may take for the issue to be resolved and though I know we’ll be working to get it resolved as soon as possible and could possibly be resolved within a day or two, it is possible it could exceed that time-frame.
Our staff isn’t able to retroactively link accounts, so I hesitate giving a go ahead, since I can’t guarantee that the issue will be resolved in time.
If your friend can wait a bit, I’d give it a day. Hopefully, we’ll know more soon enough.

I am having the same problem! recruited a friend and our accounts are not linked. Once the issue is resolved will it automatically be linked or is there something we will have to do? My friend is already signed up and paying for the game. Thank you for your time!
That is unlikely, Pearl. Once the issue is resolved the Recruit will need to try and use the link to link the accounts.

My friend and I are actually having this same issue as well, so the latest patch must’ve busted RaF unfortunately. Do you have any idea how long an issue like this could take to resolve? Surely not long if potential subscribers are on the line, right?
Blizzard rarely gives ETAs as some players tend to forget that E stands for Estimated.

Vrakthris will those people be eligable at that point though. Literally just got my friend into the game last month so since hes be unlinked with me and he is no longer a new recruit how will I get him back on the recruit a friends list and still receive rewards from him?
I have two accounts linked, but the link got broken at 9.2.5 patch…I am really missing the Summoning part
Looks like its 3 days later and still having problems. I tried to RAF my sons account and the link takes him to the “***** wants to play World of Warcraft with you”. Click “Accept your invitation” and it takes him to a page to download battle.net app. He created his account from the link I sent him so I figured that would be it but I checked and we aren’t linked. Read that they can link accounts less than 7 days old so I sent him another link. Does as mentioned above. I do want to mention, my older son wanted to play about a year ago. I tired the RAF at that time and it didn’t work. He quit playing because of it. Either the process is confusing or missing a step somewhere that Blizzard isn’t telling us or it could just be a hit or miss for users.
My RAF disappeared too so I guess I’ll wait to resub until this all gets sorted.

just adding that my RAF list was wiped as well and really shows the bad timing on my part since I got back into the game 3 days before the patch and brought a friend with me.
To pearl and anyone else: I would support a ticket to confirm whatever links! I responded to my ticket and got it confirmed that on Blizzs end my friend and I accounts are connected despite these issues.
I think she’ll probably wait to sub anyways, but this information could be nice so a new peoples first experience with the game isn’t having to wait on subbing when they just want to play.
Same issue here, my linked accounts disappeared and i can’t link new ones… Was expecting 1month of gametime today
For what it’s worth, the links are now visible, but the online status of the linked accounts is still broken. So, that tells us this indeed is being worked on fortunately
everything is working for me now…I got my 3 month reward and I am able to summon toons
