Recruit A Friend Has Been Updated

A lot of people would be upset if they were to get locked out of getting the current Recruit A Friend rewards.

If anything, I think Recruit A Friend needs more rewards, not a simple rotating stock of rewards, especially if they aren’t even going to give a proper amount of warning ahead of time that all current rewards would be permanently retired.

Having only one set of rewards available at any given time for Recruit A Friend won’t necessarily make it appealing to engage with for a period longer than a year either, which is a problem inherent with rotating out the rewards rather than adding to them.

Last time they updated Recruit A Friend a lot of people were upset that the old rewards were seemingly made unobtainable forever, especiallly as it wasn’t made clear that the original Recruit A Friend rewards were going away forever.

If they are going to fully remove the current rewards from Recruit A Friend, they should at least make the current rewards available in another way such as the Trading Post or an Archaeology achievement.

They are unlinked when the recruit has paid for 12 months of sub. Could that be it?

If the rewards change while you already have a recruit a friend for 6 months do you get the new rewards too?

When the RAF refresh hits, you need to have some way of allowing players who participated in the program before the change to still be able to get the current rewards.

I’ll be biting off kneecaps and kicking shins if I don’t get my Crocodile Dundee hat.

This game only rewards the recruiter for badgering the recruited into playing the game. Why doesn’t this system offer the same rewards to the new players? It would really do a lot for new player retention.
Even other MMOs provide the same rewards to the new players.

Here’s an idea, give the RAF rewards to the new player along with the recruiter, there’s a nice incentive right there for friends to get recruited and join the game. Give an otherwise unobtainable past promo transmog or mount with each month or so of them playing beyond the 12 months of first recruitment. The rewards ought to be retroactive for past RAFs as well.

Dear Blizz,
Please give people a better incentive to continue playing the game and instead of making “hard to acquire by jumping through too many hoops” the phrase of the day for pretty much everything that actually looks good.

My “friends” would rather play Mario Superstars

What if my friend hasn’t subbed in 3 years, but a few months ago he tried out the F2P version where you can level up to 20 only?

Actually if you round the price to 60, this goes up or down based on whatever version, lets say you buy max, and it is only 70 dollars, split that in two for a average of around 24 months an expansion. So 35 a year, add the sub with taxex, 180 + taxes, lets say another 15 in taxes a year average. So 230/12=19.16666666666667

Watching every announcement thread from Blizz devolve into an argument on ‘why game is too expensive/should be FTP’

So the only new ‘reward’ is game time??? I’m on 12 month sub anyway so wtf is this troll post… ADD SOME NEW REWARDS lol such clickbait.

Let’s pretend this scenario is for any gamer.
Also your argument is horribly off as you are acting like everyone buys games for playing them for an entire year every time they buy ONE game.
Games for any console/PC ranges from 49.99 - 89.99 and going as high as 349.99 ( case in point the FF16 Collector Edition) (the FF 7 Remake CE was even more)
So
49.99 for a new game (non MMO) (using MK on XBox for reference without discounts since you didn’t use any)
play for a month finish it (maybe occasionally go back later but you are done and only played a month)
0.99 - 25.99 depending on the DLC (not including 69.99 if a new game expansion comes out) Getting the Ultimate Bundle though will cost you 59.99
Still need XBox live if you want to play with “friends” 9.99 for 1 month - or 39.99 for 6 months (maybe they stopped it)
Total Price for 1 game with 1 year sub(as you did to WoW: 259.97 FOR ONE GAME

Yeah, I was sure we were getting new rewards as well until I read this post, which makes it seem now like we don’t. I’m really disappointed, as we have had these rewards for years now. I believe they came out in BfA.

I’d at least like a shot at the original RaF rewards, if they can’t do new ones. For a while, and before I knew I could use my own accounts for the RaF rewards, they did that, a system where you got to pick the reward out of many, including the original stuff like the unicorn zebra and whatnot. It could still be this monthly system, which I prefer because then I can use wow gold from my main account for most of the months for the recruited alt account, but maybe just let us pick what we want each month and have way more options. Otherwise, this is nothing for the people who already have all the current rewards, and you could add some new stuff to this system as well for those who have all RaF rewards ever.

That, or just also add these items to the WoW store already like you do with the promotional subscription mounts. That way, people have a chance to save money by doing the promotion, or people who can’t do the promotion–or don’t want to, also have a chance at the reward using money or wow gold (e.g., token bought with gold). Please and thanks.

Should be changed to “Keep a friend from quitting.”

Can I just give you $100 for the mount instead?

You are EXACTLY correct! This game over all is cheap compared to other options out there. If it’s not for you, I get it. It’s as simple as don’t play. Drama, drama, drama
