taking rewards away for more increased time feels counterintuitive and less motivating for people who have no friends to begin with to try and bring more people to a garbage market wont work well.

First, it’s kinda wild you seemingly rushed this content/project and even this announcement. You don’t even have images of half of the rewards? Ironically, it says “Not pictured – Sappy Buddy Cosmetic Item” but I assume that’s what the backpack item the goblin is wearing is? Like a explosive (sapper charge) from what I can tell.
So that already is -_-
So the meat and potatoes of it is, as others have mentioned, touting ‘shorter reward cadence’ while removing rewards is kinda counter intuitive. It’s a shorter cadence because there’s less rewards, interesting spin to put on it though.
Additionally, it looks like a big part of it is just a helmet? Unless it’s a full set (which seems unlikely) but even then it looks like generic dungeon/engineering gear.
The mount doesn’t look like (nor was it mentioned) a two seater which could have been nice for a ‘raf’ program but there’s a history of alternative between two seaters and solo mounts so okay.
Lastly (but not leastly), ‘Cosmetic fist weapon’ does this mean that anyone will be able to transmog it? Or are Mages, Priests, Warlocks, Death Knights and Paladins just unable to use this item at all?
All around I agree with the sentiment that this is one of the ‘sets’ I’m actually okay with missing out on and it seems very underwhelming.

If anything, if you wanted a higher ‘reward cadence’, I would have or would recommend simply adding these to the curret RAF reward tree. Like so:

This allows people to keep earning the previous rewards while making it so that every month you recieve something (and potentially rewards those that have already recruited players for you with a handful of new rewards retroactively).
Then for the next RAF ‘revamp’ do a new full 6-12 month list. Would love to see RAF rewards built around it’s current xpac. We’re in the middle of a dragon theme’d xpac, just throwing together random (loose/lazy) ideas but something like:

Again, that’s just a loose idea off the top of my head but I feel like RAF could be built around each expansion or perhaps better yet (so as to have to avoid filling 12 months worth of things) each expansion gets 6 items. So current rewards would be like 6 shadowlands themed rewards and then 6 dragonflight rewards. As each expansion comes out it’s new rewards push the oldest rewards out. What that means is that if you haven’t done RAF at all, you have access to 12 rewards and extra time to earn the last 6. This also means that with each new expansion, people that earned previous rewards and want the newest only need another 6 months.
Alternatively, you could stagger/alternate the expansion themed rewards and unlock them retroactively but doing as previously mentioned incentivizes continued use of the system while keeping rewards frequent.
That’s all I have to say about that.

Yes, you can recruit alternate Wow accounts to your Battle.Net account as a “friend”. All works – there’s a nice article on it out on the inter webs.
Wait so free trial and now asking peopel to refer a friend? Yup, confirmed. Subs are dipping low again because DF open world is dry and barren and many have left once more. How did listening to the “we want everything simple again” crowd go? Oh yeah…it lowered subs cause 0 content in open world after reown farm and your not gonna farm rares forever.

If you still have active recruits on the previous Recruit A Friend reward track, you will continue to earn those rewards as long as your recruits stay subscribed. If for any reason, your recruits lapse for a month or more and then return, they will begin awarding credit for the current reward track.
Guess it’s time to get a friend to sign up before the old rewards are gone.

My only real question would be “Is the Rocket Shredder 9001 going to be a 2 person mount?” Typically RAF mounts are 2 (or 3) people mounts.
I hope the next set of rewards is more appealing. This goblin junk aesthetic just isn’t doing it for me.

I remember them changing the system so many times. I had like 20 accounts made or something crazy like that to get all the mounts and pets. Honestly, would rather they just put the stuff on the cash shop. MUCH easier to just swipe and move on rather than creating emails just to do RAF…

I wonder if they changed RaF rewards because they want to give away the Renowned Explorer’s Attire at the Trading Post? It would be on-brand after seeing the pirate-themed outfit they gave away. So, maybe there’ll be a new way to get the explorer’s attire soon.
It says in the article that you can carry a friend with the new RaF mount.
