Recruit A Friend (Bonus exp)

Has anyone noticed, the experience bonus for questing/mob kills is not increased when with your recruited partner?

We’ve tried both playing alone and together and found that we received more experience playing alone than together.

The other benefits are active such as pets rewarded and the bonus from doing 2 LFG dungeons together.

I have a ticket open for going on 4 days with the response only asking for an email. Any suggestions on how to correct this myself would be appreciated.

If the other bonuses are there, then the bonus XP should be there too. There are some stipulations though:

Recruit a Friend FAQ

  • Both players gain a 50% bonus to experience and a 10% bonus to reputation gains from killing monsters and completing quests while playing with linked friends. To receive bonus experience and reputation, you must meet the following criteria:
    • Both characters must be in the same party and within 100 yards of each other.
    • Characters must be within 4 levels of each other and below level 110.
    • Monsters and quests cannot be trivial difficulty (gray) for either character.

Note : The experience bonus will not stack with the bonus granted from Heirloom items.

Also note that it won’t stack with heirlooms, so if you’re both decked out in those, then you might not see the same bonus.

We did try with and without heirlooms on just to be safe as well, the bonus stayed the same with 50% heirloom bonus and without, so that does make sense.

But why do we receive more experience completing quests alone than we do together?
Does the bonus not stack with the current 100% experience bonus from Blizzard?

Technically speaking, XP has always been reduced when you work in a group and higher if you quest alone. It’s reduced even more so if one of the players is a very high level in the group.

I’m not sure if it still shows it or not, but it used to tell you the bonus XP in the combat log. I don’t have a recruit right now, so I can’t confirm but one of the other regulars here might know.

I haven’t seen anything that says that the current 100% bonus doesn’t stack with RaF, so I’m pretty sure it does.

I’ll check the combat log on our next quest and post an updated if I don’t see anything different. Thank you for your help.

No problem! I’m definitely interested to know if it still shows the bonus XP.

OLD POST but The 50% xp buff has also been removed friend just joined and we arent getting it

I bet that’s why they updated the RAF in-game bonuses support article seven months ago.

That’s why it’s generally discouraged to bump a four-year old thread.

Please stop reviving long dead threads. This is the second one you’ve hit within the past day.

On CS, anything older than a week or two is considered a necro.

Due to the old information/data, anything older than that week or two is almost never the same thing going on. What originally caused the issue is not what is causing the current. If you think about all of the hotfixes, patches and even full on expansions that have passed since the OP and now - it’s old and irrelevant in almost every single case. That’s why necros are so frowned upon in this forum specifically. If you’re having some sort of an issue and you cannot find a recent thread that was active within the last couple of weeks? Post a fresh thread. That way, if other folks are experiencing it, they can see that it isn’t just them and we can try and help either offer suggestions or get people to the proper place to submit a ticket, if that is the best option.
