I’ve already submitted a bug report, but wondering if anyone else has come across this issue or has a solution.
I crafted a weapon for a guild mate on Tuesday with spark only (ilvl 259), no issue. Last night he put in a recraft to add hero crests and the recraft seemed to go through fine on my end (ilvl 272), but when he received it back the tooltip showed 259 still. We tried equip/unequip, re-log, even went to the recraft screen and it still shows the hero crests there as an optional reagent. But it removed the crests from his currency tab and still shows the lower ilvl. It does not appear to only be a visual bug as seen with some recrafts in the past because wow armory shows the equipped item at 259 as well.
Crafter has maxed out skill on weapon type crafted, rank 5 craft. Doesn’t appear to be an error in the actual crafting, just what the requesting party received.

I was the individual who had this happen to me, and Blizzard support has told me they cannot refund any ingredients used in the crafting order, including the Hero Crests. While acknowledging that there 100% was a bug, but couldn’t refund anything because they “don’t have the proper tooling”.

This just happened to me, I tried to submit a ticket but my response was less than helpful. They didn’t say anything about the topic and marked it as answered. I replied and awaiting a response. Are we both just out of luck and need to farm 80 more hero dawncrests? Did you ever get resolution on your ticket or item or are you still with a bugged weapon?

We did not get a resolution. I was told it would be treated as a bug and would be investigated if they received similar reports. The person this impacted (above) was just told to make a post on the forum. So no real progress.
My guess is there have not been that many recrafts so far and if it is a widespread issue then it’ll be noticed this week as people start recrafting with Myth crests. But I don’t think anything will be resolved retroactively. Very unfortunate to be out 80 hero crests given the weekly cap is 100.

put in 80 mythic crests and recraft mats got the confirmation that the order was 5 starred and got the item back at base no crests put in ilvl. My crests are gone. This is unacceptable blizzard.
I have zero mythic bosses killed (no possibility for mythic track item loot) and mythic track items do not drop from vaults till 3-31-26. Nothing else those crests could of been spent on other then recrafting spark gear.
Same issue here. I had my Warglaive crafted for 259 ilvl by a personal craft no issue. Then I sent a recraft in yesterday for a 272ilvl, again personal order and quality was set to max along with all mats being best quality and the recraft in the history shows as a 272 recraft but when I got it still shows as a 259 ilvl item. Clearly a bug. Hopefully they fix this. I have screenshots but clearly not able to post them here as a reply.
This bug has everyone in our guild refusing to do recraft orders from both sides. No one wants to risk losing the crests, nor be the one that did the unsuccessful craft.
IMO, this should be Blizzards number one priority right now. The amount of work required to get 80 Hero crests together is substantial, Mythics even more so. Losing those to a bug and not getting your upgrade is heart breaking and completely unacceptable.
I’m certain once they can verify this is happening, they will not only get it fixed but provide crest refunds for those affected.
If not? Get ready for people to start cancelling subs.
I read this a few days ago and wanted to verify the bug.
I did a 259 cloth wrist recraft on my mage using Hero Dawncrests and it worked fine (272).
Is this just a Mythic Dawncrest bug? Did they patch it recently? Is it certain crafts? Certain professions?
Blizz should tell us what triggers the bug, as for me it worked fine.
I recrafted my MH weapon on 3-25 with mythic crests received the order complete message at 5 star rank. Opened mail got back a 5 star item at base crafting level (i.e the OG item as if no crests were spent.) I have provided Screen shots of the order screen my current vs seasonal maximum of crests as well as my current Armory with zero Mythic Raid kills so no chance of spenind mythic crests on upgrades thanks to the new each crest is only used in its own upgrade track. Blizzard stated this was a hard to reproduce bug, this implies they have in fact reproduced it. This needs a definitive yes we can do something about this in either restoring the crafted item to its intended craft level or restoring the 80 mythic crests that were spent. Either of those options are acceptable. Any other option offered should lead to players recrafting their Credit Cards to different games.
