I’ve been trying to do this via the ticket system but the AI seems lost. Is it possible to recover my old original WoW account from before the transition to battle.net accounts?
I have a ticket open where I’ve mentioned the original account name along with some info about the account and proof that I am the original owner, but the customer support responses seem to think I’m just trying to get access to a battle.net account under my email. Could someone help please? I’d love to find this old account and see if my old original level 60 is still on it.
That is a tough one and you are in the right place. If it can still be done, the Support Forum Agents here can help guide you. You might want to edit your post to include your ticket number so that they can see the ticket info. Edit - or Orly has found the tickets
There is a reason I think this may be a problem - with warbands they no longer move licenses between Battlenet accounts. So even though the license you want is not even ON a Bnet account, they may not be able to add it to one now. The only way I can see it working without breaking things is if the old license was put onto a new blank Bnet with no WoW on it. Then it would not have any Warband/Collections issues or conflicts.
Hi Orlyia! That could be. I was sent some questions and answered as best I could about the original account, but I wouldn’t know any of the battle.net account info because it wasn’t me who merged it.
You do currently have a ticket open, Sais. I believe the license I am looking at is the one you are referring to, although I only see the first character you mentioned.
Older licenses can be tricky to find, but this one wasn’t that difficult.
I’m excited to hear you might have found it! I think I might have accidentally replied to the thread instead of to your post, but I’m happy to provide as much info as possible about the original account. I still have access to the original email I created the account with, and I know the original phone number that would have been set on the account too. Unfortunately I’ve definitely lost the original CD-key I would’ve had.
edit: Yeah, I have a ticket opened but I wasn’t getting much luck with the responses. It seemed like they were referring to a battle.net account with the original email rather than the pre-battle net WoW license. I do still have access to that email’s bnet account, but that isn’t where the WoW license was merged as I tried logging in and there are no characters on it at all.
Did you try changing the realm at the top of the character list? I know I had to mess around a bit with that to get some characters I hadn’t logged into in a while to populate on the list after the Warband change.
