Reconsidering the Ban on GDKPs in Classic WoW

This is giving CEO vibes.

This is what I don’t understand.

The ultra mega try hards buy gold and want GDKP. But they also scream #nochanges and don’t want to token.

If the wow token was in Classic, Blizzard would be encouraging GDKP. They just don’t like it because they’re not getting a percentage.

Start your own?

A lot of the fearmongering around GDKPs involves joining them, as if the players themselves aren’t the ones organizing these as well. The only barrier to entry for starting these is someones hustle.

Once someone experiences the time and effort required to organize a group, you can see why things like HRs, Admin fees, and loot prios exist.

Why’d I start a GDKP when I can start a MS/OS?

But how else is blizzard supposed to pretend they care about botting and RMT?

Great job on the GDKP ban blizzard. Keep up the good work!

Just play the game and stop complaining about something that shouldn’t matter if you actually enjoyed the game.

Exactly it’s pretty amazing how many people freak out over how other people do loot in a raid.

They could just do their SR/HR runs and be happy.

It makes perfect sense, because most GDKP players are not buying gold.

The carries in GDKPs are in those raids to not buy gold as that is their method of farming.

Now most players will simply never raid with top parsers as they will only do LC with guild and never raid pugs, not even with alts.

All the anti-gdkp players can be thanked for reducing the amount of pugs by over 50%. It isn’t GDKP vs SR / MS > OS… it is GDKP or no pugs for most good raiders.

Which of those two groups do you think has players who respect everyone else’s time more in a pug setting?

I’ve seen many people claim this on these GDKP threads, but no one has shown any data. Do you have a link to some data? I’d be willing to reconsider my position if this were shown to be true.

the MS/OS ones who just play for fun, not to feed their families.

Why don’t you run a dozen GDKPs and see for yourself.

Crazy how many people against them have never been in one.

Maybe if the raids were fun MS/OS pugs would work. But being at the mercy of other players without any repercussions is a terrible reality when it comes to pugs and MS/OS.

What ends up happening in SR / MS > OS runs in that those playing for fun do very little and end up winning the best items.

That is super frustrating for players who are working double hard to carry them and burning consumes left and right.

It may be fun a few times, maybe even a few dozen, but at some point one loses the desire to raid with groups that benefit those who made zero effort. GDKPs fix that problem and thus attract carries by rewarding them with gold and bonus payout for performance.

Without them, they simply don’t pug - it isn’t worth the headache.

As I suspected…no data. I’m even trying to be open minded here…waste of my time apparently. Just like every other pro-swiper on here you make up information about me and then attack my imaginary identity. Nowhere have I said that I have never done a GDKP.

Do you think MC is afk proof?

I think GDKP is to raiding like gambling is to gaming. there’s pretty colors, but you’re not gambling because you enjoy the roulette game.

Do you think auctions are gambling then? What is the difference between gambling and an auction with bids?
