Reconsidering the Ban on GDKPs in Classic WoW

I think all your issues were addressed 20 years ago by actual DKP.

How does DKP help me if the raid collapses next week or I can’t attend?

it helps those who can attend and are therefore more worthy to get the hard-earned loot while you were goofing off irl.

great question.
glad I could answer.

Again, what if my schedule doesn’t allow me to commit the same block of time every week?

then you should b punished for holding your guild back.

Why would someone be apart of a group they’re being punished for with no rewards?

I agree. you chose the wrong guild. You should work on that.

What guild raids on a whenever you like schedule? Are these common with dkp systems?

no, they go MS/OS and they’re called “pugs”. You can start them yourself. Whenever you like.

And once I have my stuff I can just stop making those groups and those players need to figure it out? Why don’t I HR items to expedite this process since raid organizing is a chore?

Do you think we’ll miss you, or we can’t play the game without you or what are you trying to say here?

Have you been replying without even understanding my point?

GDKPs have residual value along with loot transparency free of bias. Other systems lack the former or use made up systems to figure out loot decisions.

you make friends in GDKPs and the comraderie keeps you going. Got it.

I’m out. Good luck.

You’re still not listening.

GDKPs also relieve players of long term commitments outside of raid hours. It’s the best system for people not trying to block out an evening to stay in good standings.

Translation: GDKP’s allow for non-loot council members or their g.i.r.l.friends to get geared so the “classic Andys” QQ’d until it was banned…

It allows for people to not have to raid every week but still have a viable option at getting relevant gear.

The person who only shows up to half of the raids doesn’t have half of the loot, they have far less then that. They only have had half the time for the drops to occur and now they have half the merit to try for it.

GDKPs, using a common currency, allow for players to have a week where they can play for 100 hours, then a week where they play zero, and they’re not being punished nearly as much for it.

Molten core can take 45 minutes or 5 hours, usually it is closer to the former (1-2 hours) but the latter does happen. Or pug runs without enough douses.

As the raids get more footguns, the desire carries have to raid with SR / MS > OS players drops dramatically. Because those players so often show up with wrong talents, no consumes, and not trying to improve.

So sure, you can ms > os MC and it is likely you will finish the raid. But basically impossible by naxx.

can you elaborate how paying for loot makes you a better player?

And then there’s the people who just “disconnect” when their item doesn’t drop.

Sending feet pics to the head of a loot council member makes me leet…
