Yup. It’s happening more and more. Never used bots or multibox type software. No one will actually check the activity pattern (which would show human behavior and lack of such programs), just a rubberstamp on some kind of metric and impenetrable CS.

How is it possible to manually ban 270k accounts? So many swear by there being no automation to the bans. But doesn’t it seem impossible to thoroughly investigate THAT many accounts before deciding if it is or isn’t a bot? I see a lot of people recently getting banned, with actual names other than Thetegwf, thrown in the same category as bots. How can anyone say this isn’t automatic? I got caught by whatever trigger just having discord and spotify open.
For reference - that’s roughly 10 seconds per review if it were 1 person in a month span, if they worked 24/7.

This sounds nice, but it only assures us that all those rumors of automated bans must be true because there’s no way you are manually reviewing 10,000 accounts per day.

Our friend, and esteemed guild leader, ForTehLawlz#1219 was wrongfully banned last night. He has never cheated, botted, bought gold, or done anything to disregard the integrity of World of Warcraft. A lot of us are long time veterans of this game, coming back for SoD. This wrongful ban has compromised a lot of our willingness to continue on with this game. We would like our friend unbanned, or at the very least some clarity on what happened. Thank you and hoping for a quick resolution to this.

Same thing happened to our guild leader last night, who convinced us all to come back and play sod. Literally helped 10+ ppl level to 25 and gets hit with a random perma ban. Not even a warning after playing the game for over a decade with no priors. Unbelievably stupid that you guys/our GM can’t get a real person to look at any of these cases.

I guess my alt account is one of these. They said I was in violation of the TOS and EULA. I wasn’t doing anything out of the ordinary. Certainly not cheating. I wonder how many of these are false positives like mine. Meanwhile I still see bots running all over on my main.

Thanks for banning my WoW4 account that was fresh and unplayed less than 24 hours while it only grouped / played with my other wow accounts.
Large number of legit players got popped and the Korean GameMaster department with their horrible responses.

The accounts are Suspended for 6 months or Perma Closed and are unplayable - as the announcement says.
