Received an alpha invite but no option to install/play on launcher

I received a alpha invite from friends and family but doesnt give me the option to install it…

Have you checked this thread to see if your situation is similar?

If you don’t have the option to install the Alpha from the Battle.net client, then the “invite” you received was likely a phishing attempt.

According to Vrakthris in the thread listed, Friends and Family invites went out. If the email their Blizzard friend has is not the one that is current to their account, their old email was flagged for it.

I got one of these as well. It’s a genuine Blizzard email, the question is if they meant to send it out I guess.

It looks like they did. The issue seems to be that the email that the Blizzard employee has for them is not the one currently on their account. The old email is invited, not the current one.

Yeah that seems to be the case. How to fix it, I wonder.

I think you’d need to contact the person who added you to the friends and family list to see if they can get it corrected.

Its real, for sure 100%. Verified and its from noreply@em.blizzard.com . Im waiting on a ticket or a blue post here to try to get it resolved.

GMs will not be able to help you out with this in any way. You really should reach out to the person who would have added you to the friends and family list. They should be able to pass it along.

Yeah, however the email i used for F&F and my blizzard account are the exact same. Its a 4 day weekend for the wow team so i am in no rush.

They should be able to see if my account is “flagged” for any reason or maybe another unknown reason. Im just exploring all my avenues all at once, since i am pretty excited lol.

But if your account is flagged, then you’d have access via the launcher to install Shadowlands. Which would indicate that a different account would have been the one flagged. Since this is alpha, the person who added your e-mail to the list is the one that would need to correct it.

I don’t even have current contact info for the person who added me anymore (like I said, really old F&F add), so if that’s the only fix and Blizzard can’t correct it on their end then I’m just out of luck. Oh well.

The Blizzard account is the same one I’ve had, it just uses a different email now, so it’s not like the WoW license is different.
