Reasons why gnomes are cool?

Absolutely a fact.
Void Elves have been transformed from Blood Elves into Void Elves.
The definition of transformed is pretty clear. And Void Elf attributes prove it especially with their metamorphose spell.

Obligatory - its time for Blizz to make a questline signaling the death of the high elves.

Yeah, means only elves left on Horde and Alliance are the Kael’dorei and the Shal’dorei.

But this only applies to the first generation of Void Elves. Blizzard went the extra mile to add High Elf options for them, which places them somewhere between High and Void Elves.

Can and will not happen, otherwise the Horde High Elves are going to vanish as well.

Pure wisdom. I mean it, no irony. “Their goal is just misery for Alliance player.” How sadly true.

That makes no sense.
High Elves are not in the Horde. They are Sin’dorei - blood elves. High Elves as its own separate entity can, and should, vanish so we can move forward. Numerous lore already states to how they’re a super minority anyways.

Nightborne were originally Nightelves that were changed by the cosmic powers of the Eye of Aman’Thul.

Void Elves were originally Blood Elves that were changed by the cosmic powers of the void artifact at Telogrus Rift.

 The lore source is quite literally the race-unlock-questline. :upside_down_face:

 Lightforged Draenei are transformed Draenei and yet they’re not a biological different race from regular Draenei. Same goes for Worgen and Humans.

We will only know if they’re biologically a different race the day Blizzard confirms Void Elf offspring are indeed Void Elves and not regular High Elves.

void elves are biologically closer to ethereals then blood elves

Yeah, what, through 10,000 years?

That is not saying the Void Elves are a different race.

Where

Please, point it exactly out.

Oh look, more headcanon… From the one and only, none other, Fyre.

Adding skin and hair colors didn’t change how Void Elves are created. it’s window dressing. It’s just rp or pretending your Void Elf is something different. There is nothing else to their story atm.

High Elves = Blood Elves
High Elves = Void Elves
Alliance High Elves = High Elves

What else is there to say?

That’s humbug and you know this as well, for two reasons:

Going by your logic, all the other “RP-dressings” are not genuine as well, including the new Dark Ranger RP tools. I really don’t think you want to go this path further down…
And secondly, the first generation was created by enslaving and turning them into ethereals

Alleria Windrunner: Your masters will not enslave me, ethereal… nor will they claim my brothers and sisters!
Nether-Prince Durzaan: The transformation… incomplete… must… be… finished…

Your logic only applies to the original ones who are all purple and goes against the established NPCs in the starting zone. But you are free to speculate how these customization options can be explained otherwise.

That’s a bit of a bizarre argument, how come my blood elf isn’t void?
Just because they all stem from quel’dorei doesn’t mean they’re the same. They changed. They moved on. There’s three branches. And the remaining high elf line should die off since they are barely relevant as a culture.

Besides, even if you were right, it’s lame semantics and irrelevant to the discussion. It is completely possible to say the alliance high elves die off, and we can continue on with blood elves in the horde and velfes in the alliance.

There are living in several places and even if you try to kill them off, they still survive in Stormwind and Dalaran for the moment.

I could care less who is right here or not. The High Elves are still used by the developers in a militia faction on their own in most of the Alliance storylines and are represented by the third Windrunner-sister - and as long as they exist, people will continue to see them as a big enough population to justify the Quel’dorei as a playable race.

Wrong.
I can see how void elves were transformed…changing them. I understand the devs added customizations and specifically mentioned roleplay options.
No one is stopping void elves from pretending they are high elves.
Their identity is Void Elves. That hasn’t changed.

I can see this as a possibility. Not sure if blizz would actually do it though.

Hence the need for such a quest, showing off that its dying off culture and people can stop asking for it. :upside_down_face: thats my take on this whole thing

“I don’t like that this thing exists, and has existed for decades”, isn’t really a strong argument.

The in-universe reality is that following the sacking of Quel’thalas, there were basically two diametrically opposed worldviews being proffered up by the various subgroupings of High Elves — one which sought to maintain allegiance to the Alliance, and one which preferred to forge new friendships within the Horde.

The BE’s and VE’s are both derived from the same culture, but they’ve spent decades drifting apart and valuing/devaluing different behavioral norms.

theres only two kingdoms that have populations. neither are alliance aligned. one is horde aligned(quel’thalas) the other is neutral(dalaran) and allows both factions access to its resources and even live there if they so desire. its why both horde and alliance mages start friendly the kirin tor

I never said I don’t like it. I said it’s irrelevant and dying off. Seeing a quest to honor their dying existence is my argument.
