Honestly, I’d like to see fewer portals in the game overall. There really only needs to be one way to get to any particular location.
You are alone in that.

Agreed.
New voices should feel welcomed to drop their two cents in this thread. I am seeing already that other threads are being started by new posters.
The big hit will be during the next content drought and the FARMERS who keep paying to keep those servers up and running while the questers and raiders let their subs lapse for months.
Blizzards going to figure out theyre catering to the wrong group of players.
I agree,it been like that for years and that is a lonely BIG WORLD to be in.
Yeah I’m on ESO right now but only have one character leveled to 14 the other is level 4, One thing I like is that I have mounts for both and can ride them, Also got a house however I don’t like the idea of the crown currency to buy additional housing but don’t get me wrong I will get more crowns when I resub but if I want them now I have to buy more crowns. For being a paid sub daily I get rewarded with gold one day, scrolls that increase XP X 50% the next, poisons for weapons, and even a mount one day.
Still I like the fact that I can craft and it is immersive, portals are all over so it’s instant travel and none of this waiting as I fly zig zag from flight point to FP. Good questing, storylines etc.
May have to watch that as a refresher. Last time I played was during Warlords.
OH, and dinner tonight is chili beans. That way Blizzard won’t be the only one around here blowing hot air!
The thing is, you don’t have to take a portal if you don’t want to. Well, except to Deepholm. I don’t think there’s any other way to get there. And Argus. Pretty sure you have to use that translocator or whatever it’s called.
But I personally don’t want to waste game time just traveling unless I feel like it. Removing portals removes options. Anyone who wants to can corpse-drag through plaguelands if that’s how they enjoy the game. But it’s not necessarily everyone’s cup of tea, so they have the option to take the portal.
It actually was not humorous at all as they targeted someone 100% unrelated to the Employee, and that poor family had to have their phone disconnected.
I can’t wait for the next Q&A!
Someone needs to like that bit from Family Guy with Bryan and Stewie… “Where’s my portals man?!”
Yeah they could have done something far better then just the ‘stick it there, no one will notice’ stuff that they pulled with the portal rooms.
"That being said . . . " I bet they don’t touch the portal thing, but I could be wrong. Unless they just recite the same thing that it is staying this way.
Sorry, I could not resist using that quote, even though it turns my stomach.
Ive just advised my raid team I wont be back, game is now uninstalled.
Done with WOW. For all the naysayers who said “Lol he wont quit”
I just…did.
“LOL he will come back”
If I do…it will be some years from now.
yeah because they wont dodge the question or do some stupid haha Im funny joke to dodge it like they always do…
Honestly the Q&A of wow are more of a “are you not entertained look at all the stuff we gave you”, and dodge or ignore the real questions as usual
What the “fans” did to the poor CM was definitely wrong. It’s one reason why doxxing is seen as such a huge issue. I mean, I’ve pretty much outed a few facts about myself over the years online. But publishing my real name? No. That’s not going to happen. Only a few people online know my real name. A small handful.
I hope that more do this to where it gets out of control for Blizzard; Maybe that will get their attention; Right now all Blizzard has to say to those that ask is “Oh there are only 2 threads complaining about the changes”. The more threads made on the subject the better for our disappointment on this change to get noticed by the outside world.
Well, haven’t done the uninstall. I’m on a gold sub for 30 days. And its only courteous to my friends that I tell each of them I’m leaving. And why.
That and it gives me some time to sort out my mats and pets and then give them to good friends of mine who can use them.
That and from what I’ve heard, if you’re on a gold sub you can’t cancel, just let it run out of time.
Let it run out, dont care.
Well, like I said. I’m staying until I finish my business with my friends. It’s a courtesy to them. Certainly won’t take 30 days. Once that’s all done, good bye WoW!
Sounds like it’s not too different from EQ2.
I played EQ2 long before I started playing wow. Dropped EQ2 for 4 years, then started playing again on the side because a friend was playing. In EQ2, there are houses you can buy with gold (and other in game currencies) as well as houses you can buy with their cash shop currencies. The houses you buy with in game currencies have an upkeep cost, but the ones you get from the cash shop don’t. You can also get a house from just veteran’s rewards if you stay subscribed long enough. Veteran’s rewards are little bonuses you get for having an account. You get xp potions for most of them. You get one at 1 week, then another at 1 month, etc. When you start racking up years of having an account, you start getting really nice bonuses. I got a house for each of my characters for my 12 year veteran’s reward.
If you have enough gold, you can buy a mount at level 1. No riding skills needed. The only requirement for flight is that you have reached a certain level (90 if I remember right). There are intermediate mounts you can get as you level up that leap and glide though.
Professions are leveled separately from your combat class. You can technically be a level 1 in combat and level 100 in crafting (or vice versa). Crafting is a mini game. You can’t just set up and craft a bunch of things afk. You have to keep an eye on what you are doing and react appropriately. The things you craft are useful too.
IF they address this issue in a Q&A, you can bet they’ll just say what it says in the OP. They may word it slightly differently so it doesn’t sound too much like reading from a script. But it’ll be the same answer, down to the, “If there are any specific locations that feel as though they’re about to become unreasonably inaccessible, we’re certainly open to adding additional means of travel in the future.”
