Rearranging and Removing Portals

BLIZZARD: “We hear you!”
PLAYERS: “How can you hear us, you have earmuffs on.”
BLIZZARD: “We heard you support the portal room! Thank you!”
PLAYERS: “You’re not listening to what we said!”
BLIZZARD: “Oh, you want Thrall to come back and smack N’zoth around? Sure!”
PLAYERS: “Whatever. I’m going home.”

man. ESO transmogging is vastly better too.
You get your outfit set up, pay the price ONCE and any gear you find later is “hidden by outfit”…ie you dont have to run back to the transmog every time. Only if you want to change your outfit appearance.
Much better set up. FAR less expensive when its all said and done.

If they do, it’ll probably be along the lines of “We feel like this thread has run its course, so we’re going to lock it.”

Yeah. My original plan had been to return in November and December for the anniversary and winter veil. Now, I am debating even continuing to monitor what is going on.

Funny thing, I played through Mists with hardly a break. The so called “content droughts” never bothered me (I’m not a raider to begin with). Then, starting with Warlords, they started doing more and more things that clashed with my play style. They make the game for “cyclical players” now. I guess people such as myself, who play through thick and thin aren’t wanted anymore.

I tried FFXIV, but just couldn’t get into it. I don’t want one character that can do everything, and don’t really care for their race options. I’m an alt-o-holic. This leaves me looking back at EQ2, where I’ve always been able to have all my characters on a single server and if I want to make a new alt and have run out of room on my account I can just buy a new character slot.

Creating quests in the very areas they removed portals from took time, too. I don’t believe for a minute that they coincidentally decided that portals which have been in game for years and multiple expansions needed to go in order to “make the world feel larger” in the same patch they started sending us out into the world.

Funny thing is, I’m an altoholic as well, though I actually like it. Because I hate having to grind out the gear multiple times and all that.

So long as I keep level appropriate gear, I can do multiple similar classes. And that way if I get bored of playing as a Mage I can switch to Summoner and I’m good to go.

Obviously its not for everyone.

I guess they want you to take the portal to Undercity/Darnasus. The portals to HF Peninsula are still in those cities, as they are in IF/Thunder Bluff (but Undercity and Darnasus are easier to get to).

…and he and his mom got hit for over 200 pizzas, among other things. XD

Hopefully there’ll be more and more people coming to the forums looking for answers to what happened, see this post and keep it going for a while.

Respectful protest is what we need and not outrage. So Hopefully more people will come here to forms and respectfully disputed Blizzards crazy idea of the portal mess they created.

To be fair, apart from the trolls it’s been really respectful.

Yeah, I don’t like having to grind out the gear over and over either. Which is the biggest reason I like the heirlooms in wow. Sure, I like the xp buff too, but if I had to choose between the two, I’d rather have my heirlooms be good gear than have an xp buff. On the other hand, I like having different abilities on different characters. I like having lots of characters period, I like giving them different backstories, and I like lots of different races. FFXIV just doesn’t scratch that itch for me.

I did not know about this. I shall try it on my little guys that want to go there. Thanks.

Perfectly understandable. And you were polite about saying so. Many just mock it without even knowing what its like. And while Blizzard could take lessons from Square on how to improve their game, Square could do the same.

Yeah, it’s a good game, and I do admire their dev team, it’s just not my cup of tea.

Honestly, I’d like to see fewer portals in the game overall. There really only needs to be one way to get to any particular location.

True story: I first started playing WoW back in 2012, two months before MoP was released. My first character was a blood elf, and when the questline sent me to Undercity for the first time, I had no idea there was a portal to there. My journey across the Plaguelands at level 20 was an epic adventure.

When I found out there was a portal to Undercity in Silvermoon, I was a little disappointed, not because I didn’t know about it, but because it existed, and if I had known about it, I would’ve missed out on that journey, during which I gave my character the nickname Running Ghost.

OK a few words of advice when playing FF14 at the start you will feel your character weak and stupid…

That is the idea you are new in this world and you have to earn your skills. as you level new abilities will be rewarded to you I suggest you read a guide since there are a lot of jobs (clases) in the game. I suggest you see videos with the tittle Wow Refugees to FF14. if you wanna have a good lol at the same time feeling that damn this guy is right I suggest you watch [Game Musings With Raziel] (https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCAXwaeKwvD1eUYQZiv6k6DQ) video called Switching from BFA to FFXIV Top 10 things for BFA refugees (https://youtu.be/GnJX5S3Z_M8). There are many more more serious that will explain to you how to play the game and understand it… I will say this is a more challenging game and things are not given to you on a silver platter like wow does nowadays. But the feeling of reward after completing something is something I had not felt in years in wow.

so hope you enjoy your experience in FF14 I sure am

That’s cool. Except doing it the 100th time isn’t fun like the first 5-10 times. Right?
