well it seems they did not care about what we wanted.
I feel the same way. While there have always been things I disliked about every expansion, it was only in Warlords that they did something that made me unhappy enough with the game to decide to quit. If they had not reversed course with regard to flight before my time ran out, I would not have continued playing.
Then, in Legion, they made Pathfinder have two parts and require dungeons and a raid boss.
Then they added zone scaling everywhere. Now most people leveling through the classic zones stay in the most accessible ones, leaving the more remote zones pretty much empty of leveling characters.
Now, with the removal of so many portals, even more zones will be ghost towns. Almost no one leveling there and fewer people farming old content either.
That would be a statement of a different kind. The proverbial ostrich sticking its head in the sand.
Still it was a large design point that they hinted at with these rooms that would be easy for them to expand upon and add more portals in future expacs. So really they have little excuse to add more currently if the rooms are designed with this in mind!
LOL, I see you play on Area-52 Realm, It shows Full most of the time, If it’s like Stormrage is to me sometimes I have to que to get it, Is it like that on your realm too? Also my chat window is full of chatter however the low population realm I play the chat window is dead, How about Area-52?
Oh, there is room for improvement (pun not intended). There are a set of stairs that could easily go to another level (For alliance, don’t know about Horde).
But the fact is, they planned to remove all these portals months ago. And they said nothing. No time to genuinely collect feedback. They just announced it since it was on PTR.
I been quiet and haven’t made any post just to wait and see if blizzard would respond after the 8k post of feedback, but to me it seems just that blizzard is just ignoring feedback yet again and are just sticking to their guns and are not going to revert this dumb, DUMB change. To me it would be way more logical if they interconnect each city with portals like a portal network, so that we the player can pick which city we want to stay at and to bring more LIFE into each city so that we can see more players spread around rather than centralized in just one area and kill any life beyond that one zone. To me it seems by making this change your making the world feel SMALLER as oppose to making it feel BIGGER .
EDIT; As a side note this portal room is lacking not just with the obvious missing portals but with the main idea which was used to sell us on this portal room which was it would centralized all portals in one place p1
Not entirely true. My game time ran out in January. I can play on the PTR, but can only log in on a level 20 or lower alt in live… and since the lowest level alt I actively play is level 80…
The only reason I can still post here is because these forums don’t auto update our accounts the way the old forums did. As long as you don’t log out of them, they think your account status has not changed.
Exactly. When you Limit a persons ability to travel, you are essentially making their world smaller.
As a real world example, I have travel restrictions (one of them being my adorable fuzzball, finding someone to take care of her isn’t easy). So there are a lot of things I don’t do. There are conventions I’d love to attend, but due to travel limitations, I don’t. The only convention I attend is one that is hosted where I live. IE I can walk there.
yet portals like Undercity and Darn are located outside of the portal room. Why not just add them all in their rather than keep them at the docks or Zeppelin tower. p2
Thanks for the heads up on that.
Yeah don’t get me wrong I dislike this change greatly. I even keep flying to where the portals used to be, perhaps in hopes they are back.
I do not know what the Alliance portal room is like aside from it’s general location. The Horde one is in a really weird spot in my opinion right in the front passage way of Orgrimar.
Yeah, I heard its so close to the front entrance that its almost silly from a defense perspective.
I actually went inside the Alliance portal room to be able to speak from experience. Unless they build another level, there is NO room to expand for more portals.
Another bad change.
I play on:
Stormrage
Elune
Arygos
Area 52
Zul’jin
Thrall
Illidan
Crushridge
Ravenholdt
Proudmoore
Spirestone
Turalyon
Never have login Q’s and yeah on large pop realms the chat is always active (A52, Stormrage, Zul’jin, Illidan, Proudmoore) but on the other realms it is hit or miss (mostly miss ) I try to get people to talk, sometimes I’m told to shutup
but usually no one says anything.
Their silence is their statement.
I don’t know why they didn’t just have a portal similar to the Alliance one in the Cleft of Shadows. The Nightborne are the biggest cheeses of teleportation in Azeroth for god’s sake.
The current portal room is just literally bolted onto the main entrance like someone plonked it down in the world editor and said “eh, it works”. I’ve seen better Morrowind portal room mods than this crap.
nope.
Im not giving anything away in hopes that some day in the future this game will end up in the hands of better people who care about it and make it fun again.
Exactly this. Isn’t it wonderful to not have our voices heard?
That’s a very all to real truth, that’s unfortunate, you think after this much protest they would revert the change, but it seems not as of now.
