Kek……yeahno.
Gone are the days of me hoping that a boar will drop a Small Black Pouch.

Two free mounts that don’t count toward achievements because they’re actually coded as spells. Yay!
I’m sure that will sustain me as I fly those extra three minutes to caverns of time. On my max level Warlock of course, not this toon who is now stranded in the Broken Isles thanks to “Portalgate”. (Thanks Taliesin!)
Spoiler alert. This has nothing to do with vanilla. It’s also like the world is a lot bigger or something. Weird, right?

This.
People with rose tinted glasses want Classic so they can relive wasting their time on primitive crap. I couldn’t care less about Classic and many others don’t either. We liked things how they were, not these idiotic changes they’re making while more fundamental functions are broken. WoW is still broken for people on Mac OS with accessibility issues but I don’t see them putting money into fixing that.
They game on mac? Their fault then…
Blizzard expectes these two huge forum topics with thousands of replies to fall off. They expect us to get over the irritation we have and learn to live with the new portals. It’s upsetting. I don’t understand gaming companies in 2019. I get it’s a business and you have to make money, but how does this make them money? Forcing us to take longer to get around so it’ll take us more time to accomplish goals so we’ll keep subbing month after months?
Like every single other MMO has waypoints you teleport to. WoW keeps to it’s archaic travel system. Which I’ve had no real problem with. I usually just watch YouTube videos or read something while I’m afk-ing on a bird. But to take away portals? That’s stupid.
I’ve said it before and I’ll keep saying it again: Consolidating all the portals to one location was a great idea! Removing most of the portals? No. It takes so long to get places now, especially for your long-time loyal players who run old raids and dungeons or grind in zones for rare drops/transmogs etc.
But… the world “seems” bigger? No. It seems slower. And more boring. Because instead of being able to play in teh parts of the world we want to, we’re forced to afk on a bird or some other flying mount from point A to point B.
Blizzard, why can’t you communicate? Acknowledge anything? Admit you were quite possibly wrong in a decision? Make an effort to fix it? This portal change makes no sense, it wasn’t needed, it doesn’t do anything for the game.
This change along with the deletion of the Legion companion app (FOR NO REASON), both without any rhyme, reason, or acknowledgement are kind of 2 big reasons I want to just quit playing altogether. No point in putting in more and more effort for nothing.
This “PC master race” thing is fun as a meme, but if you really want to argue that people playing on Mac OS (an operating system that game is advertised to run on) deserve to have a subpar experience because they don’t have a PC, then you’re more illogical than this portal removal nonsense.
Relax, it was a joke. If you wanna, VLDL Bored series on youtube explains it
Them screwing over paying customers on that platform to instead fund a portal room no one cared about is mindblowing. It’s not even only Mac users, but disabled Mac users as if Blizzard felt the need to stoop even lower.
Nope. Not me and not anyone I know personally. Nobody I know wants anything to do with Classic.
The only thing that would get me interested in Classic would be minimal Blizzard Account integration that would allow me to unlock collectibles that are currently unavailable. But no, thanks to purists throwing a hissy fit that won’t be a thing so I have no interest in going back in time for the sake of nostalgia.
I personally would totally be down for a remasterd version of Classic WoW that includes all of the improvements made over the past 14 years, but I’m pretty sure that will never happen.
Not surprising.
Blizz is pulling up the ladder on all people not doing BFA content. Most people don’t even bother with BFA content at it is very dry.
The most absurd part of all this is that they are adding content in BfA that happens in old zones. They do this and then they make it more difficult to get to those locations… [insert WTF picture]
Horde have a max level quest that requires them to go to Redridge. Someone posted the Zandalari recruitment quest requires them to go to Stormwind. And Blizzard takes out the fastest way for Horde players to get there?
Did nobody at Blizz actually consider how removing the Legion portals now, in the middle of an expansion, hurts current content?!? 'cause apparently it is hurting current content pretty badly on the Horde side of things.
Of the post-launch allied races I’ve only unlocked Dark Iron Dwarf myself and that’s mostly to have access to mole machines (in the wake of all this portal nonsense)… but I’m kinda not really keen on playing a dwarf to begin with and kinda reluctant to put too much effort into it out of fear they’ll decide the mole machine is way to convenient and take those away too.
I been thinking about this part, and i find the whole ‘goal’ reasoning being delirious.
I’m pretty sure Stormwind/Orgrimmar aren’t even ‘new place’ by current standard - unless we’re specifying the portal room as ‘new places’ where ‘players are more likely to interact with other players’.
Can someone kindly explain to me how does people ‘more likely to interact’ in portal rooms? That didn’t happen in Northend Dalaran, in the Shrine, or even Legion Dalaran.
People just come and go as they see fit - by using the portals to get where they want. People don’t say: Let’s wait at the portal room and see if anything happens.
Unless we’re now classifying ‘interaction’ as how much more ‘active’ the chat channels are in the ‘new places’.
You might as well implement a global chat channel if that’s the case. That would really improve interaction no matter where you are.
I would have love to play classic wow but from what i’ve seen on this thread and the other ,these are the same people that make the game feel it’s not worth it.They want the world made ,design just for them. That makes me think twice does the classic player really would help anyone but themselves with the same attitude that made the game a turn off.
If something like portals make them want to say it’s ok we played the game with less because we didn’t need them, which is wrong, maybe back then but not now. Try running both continents on foot then running more you’ll get bored really quick without the ports and flight, even in a bigger world now ,No way.I should know because back in the earlier time I did just that when they first came out with flying.Sure it was adventurous but I wouldn’t want to do it all over again.I guess i’ll wait til all the glamor of these players fades and I can play classic without a let down from them in peace.
I feel like you don’t know about LookingForGroup /join LookingForGroup sometime and see what’s up. I’m not sure how large your realm is but on H-Area52 and A-Stormrage it’s always really active.
I’ve seen people asking where the CoT portal went in trade chat, so Blizzard seems to have been successful in getting players more likely to interact /s
Well, that’s good if they’re not condescending.
You say that with an almost sarcastic tone. However, it is worth noting that “Make Loh Go” is a recreation of a teaching tool used in introductory programming courses in middle and high schools. The turtle simulator. Many of the design decisions from this current team would earn a failing grade in such a course. They’re that basic in the nature of their flaws.
Dark Iron Mage would be the ultimate in travel convince.
So the portals that “should” be there for people leveling in legion are not. Why do you hate us?
