Ok, so farming on 50 toons is just a completely healthy behavior that should be encouraged? What a fun experience it must be, not boring at all. Clearly the pinnacle of game design.

What I’m trying to explain to you is that the reward system encourages the best strategy to reach that reward. This reward system is not present in any other game, and would be seen as a horrendous idea by anyone. The reason people don’t see it is because the way the game is patched by killing the old content without “changing” the rewards.

It’s funny. I have almost no use for the portals because I am an engineer. I am here for everyone else who wants the portals back. I have CM teleports, rings, cloaks, all sorts of whatever that can get me places, but I still understand how this makes things inconvenient.

But I still regularly use the Dalaran basement hub to get to CoT/Shat. And Wyrmrest because the Northrend wormhole generator cooldown is pretty long.

Mostly, I don’t want all my legacy travel forcefully routed through Org every time, because the loading screen is so danged long compared to other destinations.

They would not need to balance or develop anything. The entire world has scaling tech, all you have to do is allow it to reach 120 and maybe tone down for safety. Even if you make it easier, it is better than letting it rot.

lets say you are a game designer and you want to design a reward system. You notices that the reward system you designed, instead of rewarding the player that has the best strategy, rewards instead a player who cheats. If you don’t want your game to be a game about the best cheater, you will try to block this type of behavior to make it go back to be a game about the best strategist.

For sure. Having go to go through more loading screens sucks. I think the change to portals sucks. It feels like most players do as well except the people who want vanilla.

All you have to do is to keep the content relevant. Prevent your character from out-leveling the zone you are in or just scaling everything to 120.

No. Scaling is horrible enough as it is. If everything scaled to your level, you would never progress.

Leveling is what I enjoy most. It’s why I have so many alts to begin with. If they can never level up and feel powerful–if everything is always their level–I’m done. This won’t be even remotely like WoW anymore.

There are also MANY of us who find the older zones far more amenable to play, than newer content.
