Yeah, and they do absolutely nothing to try and teach you what you should take. I’m pretty sure those premade builds they have in the game are terrible. It’s great though, apparently people love that because it’s more choices. You can deviate from the “meta” and still do good enough.

Immersion is also subjective and varies from person to person. That’s another buzzword Blizzard loves to throw around but refuses to comprehend the fact that you ask 5 people what they find immersive you’ll get 19 different answers.

19 answers from 5 people? Think you might be talking to schizophrenics ;p I jest, I get what you’re saying, but I think largely speaking people want it to feel like an MMO in a fantasy universe generally speaking. Its why the class order halls were so popular.

No, I’m just pointing out that this was a topic of complaint for many years, while responding to someone (probably you) that suggested that there are no benefits associated with the change.

I currently play monk. Used to play druid.

Its a game FILLED with PORTALS …MAGIC portals. There is NO reason to remove existing portals and both hand that power to PLAYERS OR cause those players playing mages to be harassed every minute of THEIR day for a port

I kinda agree with this point, it is not a very good mechanic, this is why I would change it to allow the mage to make a portal accessible to people outside the group, so that you don’t have the hassle of having to group up, but this still does not solve the annoyance completely, although I bet it would make people interact with them, thanking them, giving them money, and make them fell important.

Yeah. It might be F2P but it clearly isn’t holding them back. Elsweyr is coming out soon, isn’t it? I don’t see a release date but it says “join over 11 million players…” on the page. Wonder if that’s total, or active players.

Here I’ll give you one of my personal “achievements”.
I levelled one of my characters on a pvp server wearing nothing but a fishing pole and equipped white fishing outfit 1-90. No hearths, no flightpaths. (Boats I allowed). No quests except to access new zones, same for portals. Grinded mobs, PvPed and fished. This is why I would never force others to play MY way.
We are done now.

Thank you! It’s challenging for me to see other classic players say the removal of portals is a positive change. Modern WoW is so different and geared for a different audience and play style than we had. I’m hoping Blizzard will at least add back the six original portal destinations… I’ve thought about it before: starting this game, as a new player today, would be so incredibly overwhelming. Even trying to complete all of the achievements would be… virtually impossible. This change will make the impossible even more impossible than it was before haha.

They dont have to SCREW MY game up for YOU to exercise some self control and NOT use the portals
